Elitevent: Guldelit 2016 @ Itamae Izakaya

The first gold elite event in Sweden gathered a lot of familiar faces and actually a few new ones as well. Great to have a smaller event and not to mention at a fantastic place. It had been ages since I had been at Itamae Izakaya and the food served this evening really made me question why. They do serve a fantastic range of food that is prepared with meticulous attention to detail, immense skill and great produce.
The wines provided by GullbergByStockwine were also very good and David could tell a lot of interesting stories about the producers as well. Always fun with people who know what they are doing and are passionate about it.
The event was further made better by all the great guests and great fun to see the previous CM Paula join for a while as well. Agnes had organized this perfectly!

This was the first Elite Gold event in Stockholm. A small group of soon to be golden ones were given the opportunity to have a private event at Itamae Izakaya. Thank you, CM Agnes for making this happen!
We were an intimate group of up to ten people attending — including the former CM Paula, not heading off to a new career [Boa sorte!] — at this very high-​end «sushi» restaurant.
We got a chance to try many different examples of the restaurant’s sushis — the best ones I’ve had in a very long time (I could digress and digest to a now-​closed place in Cole Valley, SF, 2010…). Together with a couple of other Unilocalers I had the chance to sit and look at the chefs preparing our foods — and it was superb and meticulous job! I am getting hooked at looking at the dinners being prepared after my visit to Fade Street Social, Dublin in April.
Paired with excellent wines, this was a superb and gold-​plated way to start a 2016!
