Changi airport wouldn’t hold true to being Singapore without having this hawker-like staff canteen. A bit hidden, ask information to give you directions. The public pay a bit more than staff but I had a pretty wicked 3 course meal for around S$ 10. Compared to a lot of airports like YVR where a catering company has control over almost all food outlets(crappy ones that make airplane food taste great), the value here is nuts. Another reason to love Changi.

I cant believe there isn’t a Unilocal page for this joint?! unless im missing it? Well, in my opinion, and many other foodies around the world, if you are in Changi airport for a few hours, forgo all the attractive looking restaurants in any part of the area and head towards the staff canteen(open to public) located at the terminal 2 carpark building. I think the fact that it is so hidden and away from the tourists path makes it so much more appealing for the person who is looking for that authentic bite before they catch their ride. Char Kway Teo, chicken rice, nasi goreng… all the Singapore greats can be found here! And the best part… wait for it… the most expensive dish going around is $ 3.50SGD!!! Do note that you have to exit the airport — which means you have to go through immigration(small hassle for such a great reward though). Its probably best to ask for directions at your über friendly airport information booth — they all know where it is!
