I stayed for one night as i was working nearby the following day. I was not impressed to be honest. I paid for ‘high speed’ internet, which was anything but! I had to connect via ethernet cable and it wasnt only slow, it kept dropping! Then i decided to go and eat, i waited ages to be served, my starter was ok, but my main had a hair in it! I sent it back, the waitress didnt even apologise, and i had to wait even longer for my replacement meal, which looked like it had just been slopped onto the plate. Finally, when i got the bill, they had the cheek to add 10% service charge, which i got them to take off straight away, and there was no discount offered for my hair violated main! Breakfast the following day was marginally better, the waitress was a lot more accommodating when i asked for an omelette and porridge as the food in the self service section had seen better days! Definitely would not recommend this as a place to stay, there was a Premier Inn next door, wish id booked in there instead!

With no direct rail link from Glasgow International Airport to the city centre it can be a worry planning how to get to the airport in time for check-in. If you’re like me, then there is enough to panic about when heading for a flight(tickets, passports, packing for every single potential disaster) and a good way to ensure you’re one step closer to managing it all is to stay in a nearby ‘airport’ hotel. Although it is not technically in Glasgow, it is aimed for those using Glasgow airport — stopping over in the city or catching a very early flight — and therefore handy to know about. Most are designed for that ‘stopover’ function rather than as luxury accomodation. But not this one. The bedrooms are modern, smart and beautifully decorated with sliding mirrors across the windows acting as curtains to block out light and noise but also make the room seem huge! I stayed here with friends after a spa day in Glasgow city centre in the hope of extending our girly day out with a bottle of wine and some cheesy television. One of the girls worked in another Ramada and so got a reduced rate which certainly swayed our choice of hotel but we chose this one over a more central one due to it’s little touch of luxury. Perhaps we also wanted to soak up the holiday atmosphere from the travellers on stop-overs and pretend we were off to some exotic location the next day!
