This place is lovely so friendly and so relaxing, excellent value for money and would recommend everyone coming here at least once I will be back as I loved it so much! :)

I Love Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, it’s cute, quaint and full of charm. I go bi monthly as we have our work business meetings there. The bedrooms are spotless, roomy and a very high standard, the beds will give you the best nights sleep you’ve ever had. The food is simply stunning, I’ve never had a bad meal and the service is second to non. I adore Agnes, she is simply the best and always brings a wonderful start to your day at breakfast. Give it a try, you’ll not be disappointed, the Spa rooms are fantastic too for a bit of extra luxury.

I visit the restaurant here quite often, usually in the Summer so I can sit outside. Its a lovely little place, a throwback to Olde England. Food is fine, I usually go for the pizza pats stomach.

Every month my partner and I pick a restaurant to try out and just before Christmas we picked Guys Hamlet. We went in the evening and decided on the restaurant rather than the pub and this was a once a month treat. Unfortunately is was by far the worst restaurant I can ever remember eating in. It was expensive and the food I ordered was so bad I left hungry and mad. To start we had been told they did a cheaper menu at certain times but it appeared we had to ask for this as it wasn’t just given out — very cheeky in my option. my partner had a pizza which he said wasn’t great, and I had curried chicken with apple — at £10 one of the more expensive items on the main menu. This was the main disappointment — I found no apple — my chicken was so over cooked the chunks fell apart and the ‘curried’ part turned out to be a sauce which closely resembled chinese takeaway fruity curry sauce I started to wonder if there had been any real ‘cooking’ involved– I managed 1⁄8 before I called it a day I don’t like writing bad reviews and this is the first one ever in fact but since guy’s has apparently such a great reputation I felt I should warn others before they make a long, disappointing journey like me

This is a very popular restaurant and one that has been there for a number of years. There is an italian restaurant, and a traditional ‘pub grub’ restaurant. If you are in the area, this is one certainly worth trying out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

stayed oct 08: just for the night, break from the kids. served all purposes. stayed in the open-plan type room, very clean, tidy, large king-size bed with satt. t. v, flatscreen and pay-per-view movies. ideal if you just want to get away and spend a bit of time with the other it was open plan, just span the flatscreen round in bedroom area and watched while in the jacuzzi/hot tub with remote in one hand, vodka in the other(chillin.) getting deluxe room next time, as larger jacuzzi(better for two) and plasma fixed to wall near tub. selection of small country pubs right on doorstep and owd nells tavern on site selling an array of different type beers. we also went for indian meal at barton bangla 2mins drive down road, well worth a visit as food was exceptional. overall, very good place to stay with several amenities including a italian restaraunt/pizzeria on site and would recommend just for a quick one night get-away.

Popular country pub from tudor times. It is next to the canal and boats dock here. the food is what you would expect from a British pub and in the summer it is lovely to sit out side. it can be very busy at weekends and lots of young people come to hang out. the main thing is the surroundings, it is a little dull inside but overall a nice place to eat.

Great place to sit and watch the canal boats go past while enjoying some good food. You can also stay the night in the Hotel. 2 great restaurants with pub grub or more refined menus to choose from. Lovely area of Lancashire and well worth a visit.

This is a great pub which gets its name from having thatched roofs. It is situated right next to the side of the canal, So in the warmer months its lovely to sit outside feeding the ducks and watching the boats go by. Whenever I have been its always had a warm friendly atmosphere. Children are allowed in, it has a pool table and serves good food to especially its pizzas. There is also a lodge with hotels rooms attached to it so perfect for a romantic weekend away. The staff are always very friendly and the service is brilliant. Never had any complaint and I would definitely recommend a visit.

Beautiful place to go for lunch. I say lunch as the food isn’t fabulous. It isn’t somewhere I’d choose to go for a nice evening out. However, during the day, it makes a lovely setting with a canal running at the side where you can feed the ducks. Benches align the canal and the place is really oldy worldy. You don’t find many well kept thatched buildings as nice as this in the Lancashire area anymore. It is often used as a venue for conferences.

This is one of the most interesting and different places I have eaten in a while Guy’s is a canal-side thatched room bar and restaurant just off the A6 at Bilsborrow. Due to its location by the canal this place looks really idyllic on a nice summers day. The atmosphere is ideal for Children and families, it building itself looks like something out of the olden days, you don’t really see buildings like this ant more. I believe that Guy’s is actually has the largest thatched roof and eyebrow window within Europe. Due to the fact that it is a family run business the atmosphere is very warming, the restaurant has been in the same family for three generations now and has withstood the test of time. In the restaurant you can order from a large menu. They offer a great deal of Pizza’s that the children seem to like. Personally I ordered the Char grilled Chicken Salad, I though it was quite expensive at about £10 but there was lots of chicken there and the Cajun species went down very nicely. I cant fault the staff on their customer service, they were polite, friendly and seemed happy to have us there. This is ideal if you fancy a day drip out with the kids at the weekend.

Full of Olde Worlde charm(and pretty much every sign is spelt in this way) Guys is a great place to spend an afternoon: outside a great pub that serves hearty food in a beautiful canalside setting. It’s a must for me on Sundays in summer. Easily found just off the A6, this complex of thatched hamlets making up the pub, restaurant and hotel rooms is remarkably peaceful and a real retreat to bygone times. I often find myself sampling the wine list during the afternoon, succumbing to the menu at dinnertime, slipping into a comfy chair in the bar and then booking a room for the night! Residents can also make the most of the ‘nightclub’ a bit of a locals night, but great fun in a rural way. The restaurant and pub menu is part of the ‘Taste Lancashire’ acceditation scheme, which guarentees local produce wherever possible, as well as high standards of service and hygiene. TIP — Make sure you book a room with a whirlpool bath — just don’t have a blonde moment like me and go overboard on the complimentary bubble bath — not fun to clean up! Another tip is to check out when they hold their annual oyster festival — usually in early September.
