This bar is in Manchester City centre. Opposite Harvey Nichols There is a lot of different drinks reasonably priced and nice bar to sit outside if the sun is out.

This place has certainly turned itself around. Gone are the musty old sofas and a feeling of «old man’s pub» and in with modern chic clean décor. Meeting up after work we fancied a spot of dinner. Monday to Thursday they have pizza and a drink each for under a tenner, two steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 on a Tuesday and fish and chips and a drink for £6.50. We initially were going for the pizza but the Stilton, pecan and apple salad enticed me. He had the burger. The food arrived promptly, and I have to say I was impressed with the presentation and taste. The salad was fresh with great texture from the apple, pecan, croutons cheddar and Stilton cheese. by all means it wasn’t your usual boring salad. The burger looked just as good, with its perfectly crisp onion rings and bacon. Overall a very cheap but very exceedingly cheerful place to visit.

I have been here a few times and it’s a nice pub. I have had food a couple of times the hanging chicken kebab is really nice and great value, the Sunday lunch is good to you also get a free drink with this meal. The atmosphere is really relaxed the décor is modern/old but really well decorated. They do a great offer too if you buy two glasses of the same wine you get the rest of the bottle free. Overall a great pub and lovely food definitely a place to try.

Considering I hadn’t ever been in here to going in 3 times within a week says how much I enjoyed it in here. Fair enough it may not be the classiest pub in Manchester but what you get is decent service, good food and pretty decent beer. The food is good value especially considering it is right in the centre. The hanging kebabs are excellent and very tasty. This is definitely somewhere i’ll be coming back to, especially for a quick bite to eat.

Have only ever been in here on a Friday night when it’s normally rammed with an eclectic mix of young/old/local/visiting clientele, but I called in last night to meet a pal and was surprised to find how quiet it was, in comparison to the busier Sinclairs round the corner. Not to be confused with the other Crown and Anchor on Hilton street, near Lammar’s, this one serves up a fine selection of Joseph Holt’s ales. The manager also mentioned they’d be launching a cocktail menu, plus a late-night pizza offering, in January. The location is great, close enough to escape the Christmas markets when they get crowded and you just want to sit down and enjoy a drink in peace. Prices are also decent, given its central location. Would go back!
