I never thought I would be such a pizza express fan! I have been a few times over the years and it’s usually out of convenience. I went in to use my Taste Card and we wanted something quick before going to the cinema. From the second we walked in everything was great, we greeted by the friendliest waiter and he continued to look after us, he went the extra mile to provide great service, offering us some great suggestions. I had a glass of shiraz which was delicious! The doughballs didn’t’ fail to disappoint and my pasta was deliciously cheesey and creamy. Literally I can’t find anything to fault with the service and food we were given. I usually prefer an independent restaurant but I didn’t feel like I was in a chain. Top Marks for Pizza Express on Peter Street. it was a pleasure!

Enjoyed a nice meal mid afternoon on a Saturday. There may be other places that a foodie like myself would rather eat but I just can’t be bothered with anywhere that’s too busy with Saturday shoppers. Close to St Peters Square and the Midland Hotel, this branch of Pizza Express is far enough away from most of the shops to not be rammed during the daytime. I would imagine it’s busier in the evening. Why only 3 stars? Well, although I enjoyed my Pizza, it wasn’t perfect. I tried the new American Hottest, and whilst the toppings were delicious and the buffalo mozzarella delightful, the base was just a bit too soggy for my liking. Another star was lost for the dessert. I ordered chocolate fudge cake, which was served with ice cream. I was really disappointed. A small piece of sponge cake topped with chocolate frosting is not chocolate fudge cake. There should be at least one layer of fudge/cream in the middle, if not two, and more around the outside. Two mains, two desserts and two drinks came to £43.55 before tastecard discount. That’s way too much for this kind of meal. Tastecard brought it down to £28.65, and it was barely worth that.

Nice ambience but what I ordered wasn’t available and the service was a bit slow as we said we were in a hurry when we arrived, and it was early evening so not too busy. Still, good food and I would go again.

You know what? I love my indies, but when it comes to quality chains, I can’t beat a bit of Pizza Express. This one is fantastic for eating at, but also taking away from. Case in point — Orange Wednesday a while back to see T’Avengers. Off went I and the mister. Used our codes to get two giant discounted epic pizzas to go. Popped boxes in tote bag with my coat draped over them. Went to see T’Avengers with Yellowcard discount AND Orange Wednesday code, paid just over £2 each. Chose seats at the back. Proceeded to devour pizza while watching film. This is how we do it! Disclaimer: AMC, if you’re reading this, please don’t ban me from your cinema for scoffing secret pizza. I promise I didn’t make a mess. Plus, this branch is nicely put together for when you’re just looking for a quick bite whilst still making goo-goo eyes across the table. And as for Pizza Express overall, I can’t complain. It falls under my classic Wouldn’t Pay Full Price For It But Happy With Code Price rule for certain chains(hello GBK and Zizzi), but for that I usually give 3 stars. Pizza Express gets 4 stars because of the variety, the speed and the fact that when you’re watching your weight pre-wedding, the Leggera pizzas are actually healthier than the salads. TRUTH! I’m going there tonight before watching Batman. I am however not taking my pizza into le cinema this time.

Pizza Express; the best thing about this place is that it does exactly what it says on the tin. It sells good quality pizza that arrives fast. It’s healthier and tastier than Pizza Hut and offers a much more pleasent dining experience in total. This particular Pizza Express, however, does not offer fast pizzas, good service or a pleasent eating environment. Whoever is managing this restaurant needs to fix-up! All credit to it; it is aways busy. But the staff are completely incapable of handling this. The last time I went in(I won’t be going again) we had to wait nearly an hour for our Pizza and the same again for our bill. We could have easily just left without paying and nobody would have batted an eyelid. The staff were very apologetic about this, but that just doesn’t really cut-it. I will not be eating here again.

I don’t know if other people have already realized this but I just discovered a new thing about Pizza Express that has made me like it even more. You all know there’s a pizza called a Sloppy Giuseppe right? On this comes ground spicy beef, jalapenos and tomatoes. You probably also know that you can get extra topping on your pizza. These are £1.40 or something extra. This means you can choose the pizza of your choice and then add something to it. But what I did not know is that one of the extra topping is ‘Sloppy Giussepe MIx’!!! This means you can choose a different pizza and add this too it, so you’ve literally got two pizzas on one, for basically the same price. AMAZING! On the subject of the pizza express, I agree with Ceire, whom I accompanied to this venue one time. The food took far too long. This means that instead of ordering a Sloppy Giuseppe you can order another pizza. But I still love the food.

We usually go here before watching a film at the AMC, which is around the corner and it seems to have become a bit of a pre-film ritual, so the location is spot on. I like the interior of this particular restaurant as it’s compact and has a two tier floor and high ceilings, with the usual black/cream/dark blue décor. The pizza’s are imaginative and the bases are always nice and crisp, I’ve never had a bad Pizza Express Pizza and I must have tried every one off the menu over the years. The salads are big and fresh too so we usually get one to share too. The open plan style of the restaurants keep a lively atmosphere of chefs swing pizza dough around, clinking glasses and an inviting hum of conversation. I’ve never been in a Pizza Hut since these opened. The best thing is that if you look on those money saving website you can almost always find vouchers to print out for 2−4−1 pizza’s and other good deals. At the moment they’re doing any two mains for £12, bargain!

Pizza express anywhere in this city is always going to be my best best place for lunch or dinner or just a pizza! I don’t need a time to enjoy my pizza! Especially when they’re oh so delicious with the thinest crust and yummiest toppings! So getting back to this Pizza Express, It is great great great! I usually come here for dinners after a good film at the Amc’s nearby and I try not to fill myself with all the salsa and nachos inside! Most amazing thing to have when you plan Pizza Express are the 2 for 1 vouchers! Then you can have 2 massive pizzas for just a tenner! What more can one want from life?

Pizza Express excel at doing good pizzas, in an express fashion. Tautological analysis at its best(which in itself doesn’t actually make sense). Also, it’s a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere spread across two floors, situated near to the AMC which is a nice plus, and there’s some great offers on. Great stuff in total, and i have high hopes for the rest of the places in this chain now.

Tucked away on Peter Street, this is my fave Pizza Express for 2 reasons: — its proximity to the AMC and Cornerhouse makes it perfecto for pre-cinema gorgings. — it’s well nice inside. Some PEs(haha, not PE, yuk!) are big and loud, and some are small and cosy. Well, this one is big, but cosy. The mezzanine floor gives an intimate air to both levels, as the lower level is shaded and enclosed, and the upper level feels somehow special and more private. Weirdly, when me and Curly Friend last popped in on the way to(ironically) see Twilight, we were seated in THE shadowiest corner. Maybe they thought we were on a sexy romantic date. Or maybe we both looked like hell from doing spreadsheets all bloody day. Either way, it was… interesting. The service here is great, and there are a good few cutie booties on the staff. One gripe, though, is that every time I’ve been here, the service has been great, up to the point of getting the bill, at which point you can’t hail a waiter for love nor money. Whether this is just bad luck, or they’re putting off bringing the bill in the hope we’ll order more food or drink, I can’t say. Minor irk, and not a reason not to go. PE is easily one of the best chains in the country. I have neverm, ever been disappointed by the food, the wine is good(if a liiiitle pricey for what it is) and those doughballs are about the tastiest wee hunks o bread I ever did see. This PE is quieter than the more central branches, and has a classier tone because of it, even on Orange Wednesdays. A good PE to go to if you want to forget that you’re just like all the other peasants.

The mother ship of pizza expresses in Manchester this one has a floor space big enough to be an elephant enclosure. As expected Pizza Express does the décor and vibe ting very well, with 2 big floors and a big bar. The food is usually good and this pizza express is particularly special due to its proximity to the AMC cinemas, this means come every Wednesday night you can get 2 for 1 film tickets followed by 2 for 1 pizza express(if your with orange, if not you can still save some green on your pizzas by searching the internet for a voucher). Perfect for the couples on a budget evening. Pizza express has some awesome pizzas and they’ve recently started doing legaras?(I think their called) which are thin crust, so all n all it’s for winners.
