Must admit I didn’t have a great experience at Giorgio. The best part was definitely the service as the waiters were extremely friendly and efficient however the rest of the experience wasn’t so great. Firstly we were placed downstairs and were sat in between 2 large and rather noisy drunken groups. Not the most relaxed ambience to enjoy your food by. When the food came it was average. To be honest I can’t remember much about what I ate other than it was ok. One of my party completely left theirs as it wasn’t very nice. Another person didn’t receive what they had ordered but the waiting staff were excellent and came out with a replacement straight away and didn’t charge for the meal. I really wanted to like this place as the people that run it are so lovely but it will take more than that for me to go again.

This place is far more expensive than necessary and the quality of the food is just average. My calamari were definitely frozen and the tiny little fluff of salad mix on the plate with them turned out to BE my insalata mista, after I asked them to cancel the salad —they were nice and went ahead and«canceled» it, but I saw another one delivered without the lettuce, and realized that they had already given me my salad. The salad cost as much is the appetizer and was the tiniest I’ve seen. The scallops were tiny, though well cooked, the mashed potatoes were bland, the pana cotta was rubbery, though well flavored.

So much to chose from! When you first look at the menu, there are so many choices of pizzas and pastas. We got there early so was able to take advantage of the 2 course menu that was around £12. My group started out with garlic bread and olives. It was the first time I had it half where it was garlic mozzarella and the other half with a marinara pesto sauce. For the first course, I had the BBQ chicken wings. It was okay, I thought the sauce was a little too sweet but admit it was huge. For the main I had the pizza mafiosa and that was delicious! I wasn’t sure how all the toppings(onions, peppers, chili, spicy sausage and mushrooms) were to go together but it was delicious. It is pretty big but they’re happy to pack up the rest for you to take home.

Why aren’t people reviewing this great little place?! Situated just round the corner from The Palace Theatre, Giorgio is a wonderful Italian restaurant that promises great food for a very reasonable fare. It’s prime location makes it the ideal place to eat before an evening show, but I would recommend everyone to take advantage of their Pre-Theatre Menu. Just £10.95(before 6.45PM) for a two-course meal, served by friendly and attentive staff! Pittance, I tell you! I had the Mozzarella Caprese(fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, green pesto and olives), and my mum had the garlic mushrooms(which were absolutely delicious and served with a wedge of perfect, buttery, garlicky ciabatta). I then had the Spaghetti Alla Francesca, spaghetti with smoky ham, mushrooms and a wonderful creamy tomato sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The Tiramisu is pretty fantastic too, none of that Bella Italia-defrosted-from-a-box crap. My friend tells me that they have a faster turnover rate than McDonald’s. Your food will arrive promptly, and no doubt, will disappear from your plate just as quickly. It’s good. Trust me.

We ended up at this restaurant completely by accident. Somebody had recommended Don Giovanni’s to me, but I’d just remembered that it was at the end of Oxford Street and had an Italian sounding name(my hair isn’t even that blonde), so we found ourselves in Giorgio, just across the road. The restaurant has more of an Italian feel to it than pseudo-Italian restaurants such as Felicini, and the staff were Italian too, which added to the air of authenticity. Prices are pretty standard — ranging from £6.50 for a margarita(but who orders a margarita?!) to £17.50 for the sea bass. We stuck to pizzas, which were delicious, but for the more wealthy and adventurous there is quite a varied menu including duck marinated in orange liqueur and several variations on the fillet steak. Vegetarian choices are not quite so exciting though there are still a couple of pizzas and pasta dishes to choose from. So, it’s an authentic Italian restaurant with good reasonably priced fare. Why only 3 stars? Well, we were sitting not more than 20 cm(I kid you not) from another table. I usually quite enjoy a good eavesdrop, but this was too close for comfort. It felt like we should’ve been sharing food and chatter with the couple next to us. Of course we’re British and were too polite to complain as the restaurant was busy at the time, but this little predicament has encouraged me to head over to Don Giovanni’s next time I’m on Oxford Street and in the mood for an Italian.

This restaurant is slighty pricier than other you may find in Manchester City Centre, but what you are paying for is quality, the retaurant is very clean and well presented. The food is very delicious and the portions are generous. You never wait long for a table even if the restaurant is packed, and the waiting area is lovely. The waiting staff are italian, very genuine, helpful, and very friendly. Its a very nice place to go with family, but also a lovely setting for a romantic meal. 100% recommended.

Giorgio is an Italian restaurant located right in the centre of Manchester. This restaurant confused me the first time I went as I could not decided if I liked it or not. I have now been 3 times and I can definitely confirm that I like it. At first I was a little concerned as the food was more costly that I anticipated. Once you get over that you can see that the food is really magnificent and enjoyable. I wouldn’t really recommend it as a family place, its mainly for couples or groups out to celebrate. The staff were very polite and friendly and the service was very prompt. The restaurant itself always seem very busy especially on a weekend but not so much that its over crowded and uncomfortable. I went with a group of friends last time and had a really enjoyable time, we didn’t make a reservation and we got seated within 10 minutes. I would give this restaurant ago if you and a group of friends fancy some nice food before a few drinks on the town
