It all went down hill in the end. We looked up prices and availability of a few laptops online before popping in to take a look at them in the flesh(or metal/plastic?). The exterior looks a bit tired. The trademark purple seems to be fading from the Manchester weather! There was car parking outside so all looking good. Looking around the store, everything was neat and well displayed. There was someone doing so quick hoovering too. Whilst browsing, the first guy came and was really friendly and and asked us what we would be using the laptop for and what our budget was, and then made sensible suggestions of what specs we might need and which laptops were suitable. After this, he gave us some time and space to look at these suggested models. After deciding, our original guy was busy helping another customer and we were looked after by a boy who seemed intent on making us spend more money than we could afford, stating that a Pentium i3 processor with 4GB memory will struggle running Microsoft Word and a background security software! Obvs before we called this second guy we had already decided and was starting to feel impatient at his poor attempt at up-selling! We still made our purchase because PC World does offer great value and there are some staff who are knowledgable and are good at what they do.

Bought a new Hard Drive in Curry’s, but wrong format, told to take it to PC world, rude lady on reception, clearly no knowledge of greeting customers, told me to sit and wait, when eventually seen told they wanted £15 to format a drive that was wrong as I had bought it despite being told that it would be done, no problem. They can have it back service for this company does not exist, stay well clear from Curry’s and PC world until they learn what customer service means.

A decent sized store, with helpful staff. We didn’t stay long but had to quickly call in to grab a product just before closing. The staff were very helpful, and although we were still there after closing, they were patient and didn’t mind helping out further. I’ve had bad experiences with PC World in the past, but this one was surprisingly good!
