Absolutely incredible breakfasts including possibly the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Be warned, this places is popular and on the weekend you might have to wait for a table but it is so worth it. I had the ‘double Dutch’ — two huge fluffy pancakes containing just the right amount of chopped bacon, complete with two fresh fried eggs on top. I covered these with a heap of maple syrup and it was heaven! Apart from the waiting, the only other thing to note is that it’s not cheap by breakfast standards, but it’s definitely worth the price. I’ll certainly be back the next time I’m in Manchester!

We’ve been to this café a few times for breakfast and love it! My favourite item is definitely the salted caramel apple pancakes, simple delicious! The portion sizes are big so I struggled to finish. We ordered milkshakes but weren’t overall impressed. There’s always a long wait for a table too, sometimes over an hour! But the pancakes are worth it.

If you’re gonna go, go early, the place is packed from the beginning and I had a 40 minute wait. Definitely worth it though, I had the Double Dutch and it was awesome. The staff are also bloody lovely so that helps. Basically, you need to check this place out.

MOOSE!!! America+Canada+Café=MooseCoffee! I absolutely love this place!!! And so does everybody else. You’ll never see this place empty and there’s a good reason for that. On my first, and only visit(so far!!) we arrived at the doors at 8.50am to find the doors opened at 9 and by the time those 10 cold minutes past there was over 10 people waiting to enter just as we were. I was shocked! As it opened and we entered the atmosphere was upbeat, warm and the handful of staff made it feel relaxed and welcoming giving you the time and attention you needed. The menu was a little too much for me at this time in the morning and by that I mean there was LOTS to choose from I couldn’t make a decision! The theme of the menu is a mixture of American and Canadian breakfast /brunch food. There’s a ton of pancake and waffle mixtures, sweet or savoury. About 12 different varieties of Eggs Benedict, sandwiches, shakes and hot drinks to choose from. I got the ‘Double Dutch’ — a combination of 2 pancakes filled with sausage and bacon, topped with 2 fried eggs and a pot of maple syrup but remember, these aren’t those thin batter mix English pancakes, oh no! There AMERICANONES!!! One downfall of this uptown café is the price. It’s between £6−10+ for one meal but with the quality I wouldn’t put this down as a complaint. I would highly recommend this place but suggest you get there early as they don’t make reservations. I will certainly be reuniting with MOOSE again. A new favourite for me.

The food in general tastes nice however I was very disappointed by the milkshakes, hopefully it was just a bad day for them and they don’t taste like that every day! But the price range is good and the pancakes are really nice and rich!

Aside from a painstakingly long wait(.okay, it was Sunday around 12:30 pm), the food did not disappoint. As one of those typical Americans who practice brunch religiously, the Bronx Brunch opened my eyes to the vast potential of Manchester’s breakfast scene. The atmosphere is a little cramped, as it does get incredibly packed. However, the food is a maaaajor yes.

GREATTEA. as a visiting American who loves coffee and tea, this was a must see place. Great coffee and tea. Wish the coffee was a little bit stronger but still much better that some coffee you get back in the states from coffee shops.

Great lunch, and they let dogs in! Quick service and a good variety of food on the menu, especially for vegetarians. The bench seats were very comfortable. I would highly recommend anything that they do with chorizo in it! The coffee and fresh orange juice were really tasty. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. There’s plenty of on street parking as well.

I have always imagined this to be yet another generic coffee shop… WRONG Finishing a 12 hour night shift we came here to warm our cockles after being tossed about in the icy wind and rain. The décor screams of moose, moosey antler chandeliers, moosey fine art, and one moose-infested menu. A hostess waved us to a cream leather booth. it sure felt like a posh Canadian diner. opening the menu, I could not find a single familiar dish. I loved how everything was titled moosily. from Mighty Moose, Lone Moose, Veggie Moose. a lot of the dishes consisted of meat patties, maple bacon, pulled pork, grits, proper buttermilk pancakes… there was so much, and each dish had a lengthly description of what it entailed. After some time we both ordered a Oreo and Bounty shake. the Oreo was malty and wholesome. the bounty was gritty due to the coconut shards which made it unpleasant. Food: I ordered the Rich Moose Grits purely because I had never tried grits before. The waitress queried if I preferred brown or white toast. she need not had bothered after what was about to come next. When my dish was presented to me, I quietly whimpered ‘help’.the portion was intimidating, and the postioning of griddled tomato and easy over eggs made it look like a mocking face. The grits I soon discovered, was made up of ground corn, infused with garlic and cheese. it was similar to mash potato, the runny yolk from the organic egg helped break it up… but still it was so rich that I only consumed ¼ of it… without battering an eyelid to the toast. Sheepishly I watched my friend dig into her Grande Bouche. basically bacon and vanilla battered egg on french toast, smothered in maple syrup. it looked epic. Fast falling into a food coma I grabbed an emergency coffee latte… not to sound cliché but this was the best latte I’ve tasted. Unfortunately the bathroom was out of service, which wasn’t pointed out until I turned around and saw the sign… however the service was pleasant and the ingredients tasted fresh and… actually organic? The eggs that I consumed were thick like the pancakes. I will definitely be back, but not for the grits. unless I starve myself for a week first

Ok, another Manchester place that I need to upgrade. So I returned for breakfast and the place was a lot quieter, which meant there wasn’t a horrific wait for food. Thank god! I had the veggie mighty moose and shared a bowl of grits. Both were exceptional. The food here is so good and delicious, it’s just heavenly. My only complaint would be that the menu is so ridiculously long that it takes ages to read and to decipher the difference between the dishes.

You like everything Moose? Also breakfast? We’ve got the spot for you. It’s impossible to miss Moose Coffee. It’s the one with the pictures of Moose everywhere. Also everything on the menu has a name with Moose in it. Because when I think breakfast, I think Moose. And the food’s not bad. I got a mix of two different types of Eggs Benedict: one with pulled pork(The New Orleans Moose) and one with traditional salmon(The New Hampshire Moose). Both tasty and hot. They were also easily able to sit a giant group of tenish people early in the morning with plenty of space to spare. All in all, a basic, Moose spot for a Manchester Moose breakfast.

This was another good breakfast option during my stay in Manchester earlier this week. Large menu, good coffee and friendly staff. Not a lot more you can ask for your first meal of the day. I went for the eggs Benedict and was happy to see that you were allowed to mix and match the options that are on offer with your eggs. I went for both Salam and bacon… for someone that can never make up their mind this is a really refreshing thing to see. All of the food I had was well cooked, great poached eggs and the coffee had a decent flavour. A very solid start to any day. Worth a visit.

Before the Manchester sun even had a chance to rise we were in Moose Coffee and to my utter shock the staff were chipper and cheerful. This was an immediate positive for me as it meant two things, one — the service was going to be good and two — the coffee was strong. Turn out those statements were both true as we sat down for an enjoyable breakfast at Moose Coffee. The décor and layout is great, there was around 10 of us an we managed to get a large table comfortably! The décor was very much moose themed although there was one curveball which was the luggage racks above the booths — the type you’d find on a train. Food wise it was excellent — the menu was large and expansive with every different variation of eggs you could wish for. I went for The New York Moose which was basically eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly done and the sauce was incredible, the only issue was there wasn’t quite enough to moisten my bagel. But that’s just me being picky. Overall a great wee café and the prefect pit stop on your morning Manchester commute.

I have definitely found my new spot for food in Manchester when I visit. Their breakfast sorted me right out after a gig the night before. I believe i got the veggie mighty moose and it was just what I needed. Cant rave about this place enough, staff were great and allowed me to swap how my eggs were cooked with no fuss. Food was beautiful. Went around 10:30am there and there were luckily seats that day(Tuesday) but I would hate to try and fight for a place on a weekend because I can only imagine it gets packed.

Even as an American I can easily say the English know their breakfasts a bit better than us. However I was craving crispy, greasy American-style hash browns the morning after a long night out. For the food and coffee, I highly recommend Moose; if you have the expectation of American-style, you may be slightly disappointed. At least in the US, hashbrows are typically fried on a griddle until the edges crisp and the outer layer makes a crunchy shell which expels steam when cracked open with a fork. I didn’t get this with the Moosebrowns. The redeeming bit was pretty much everything else on the plate. The eggs were cooked just perfectly. You could pull the yolk out through the solid whites and the dripping is actually slightly euphoric. It can be hard to find eggs done this well in a standard breakfast bar in the US. The tomatoes(not typically served in an American breakfast plate) made me want to scream with excitement. It really balanced some acidity in with the mound of starch on the plate. I may start doing this at home in the future! Lastly, the service was fantastic. The wait can be a bit long, so come in early. My group of three waited about 20 minutes for an opening(well within the 30-minute window they gave). The staff checked in just enough to care, but didn’t smother us despite their need to turn over tables. I highly respect the courtesy. All in all a great place after a very slightly disappointing hash brown. I still highly recommend the stop!

Well played Moose Coffee, you managed to convert me to actually enjoying Onions in my food. Normally I ask for or pull Onions out of every single dish I eat, however foolishly on this occasion I forgot to ask for my Philly Cheesesteak to be Onion-less. Dun Dun Dunnnn. Well it was amazing! Onions, Peppers, well cooked steak and lashings of cheese sauce, I was well and truly stuffed after it! I also had a flat white and a nice smoothie(bottled not fresh) while waiting for my friend to show up! Not a bad spot to kill some time and for me get some work done, however they don’t have wifi! Adding wifi and having fresh smoothies probably bump this to a 5 star, hopefully like a good business should — they read the Unilocal reviews and revisit my suggestions!

Breakfast part 1 a blueberry pancakes with maple syrup… Oh dear baby Jesus this almost ended me… So thick and filling, the flavour was lovely and the warm pancakes went down a treat with the maple syrup. I only wish they did a ‘single pancake option’ as a snack as 3 of these bad boys was just massive and have killed my second course plans… I have been defeated and this is not an easy feat! I feel deep shame for myself and have brought shame upon my family… On a more ‘reviewy’ note… I adore this place — the 50s swing music moved with the wooden natural colour and angles chandeliers make this a lovely place to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere, it’s great for people meeting up and there doesn’t appear to be too many tables crammed in. The food is gorgeous from what I tried and the coffee has a good strong kick! Next time you’re thinking ‘where oh where should I go for brunch?’ … This place should be on your radar! UPDATEFROM5 hours later: I had to come back for lunch, the French toast called to me and I couldn’t let myself down any further! It was unusual and excellent! Try not to over face yourself; the portion size is deceptively epic! Just look at the pic, the French toast is unreal!

One morning in Manchester, sooo many places to choose from. After reading the glowing reviews on Unilocal and through word of mouth I thought I would head here for breakfast and it certainly lived up to the hype. The breakfast/brunch selection is extensive and served all day which is a bonus! There is everything you could want including more traditional breakfasts like porridge to pancakes and home baked potato hash. I chose ‘Cortes’ which was scrambled egg with chorizo and it was absolutely delicious! Generous serving alongside a vanilla latte so I felt satisfyingly full afterwards! The café itself has a charm about it with a dark wooden interior and antlers for decorations giving it a quirky feel. The staff were very friendly, happy to make conversation and willing to go the extra mile. It got very busy from 10am onwards and yet I wasn’t rushed. My only criticism would be the lack of wifi access and there only being one toilet to fight over!

Moose is quite simply a big fat slab of American & Canadian breakfast magnificence, tucked away off Mosley Street. The offerings here were so good that I went two weeks in a row and will be back again on Monday. They have one of the most extensive and intriguing all day breakfast/brunch menus I’ve ever seen. On my first visit I was beside myself at the prospect of being able to mix any of their five Eggs Benedict dishes — the ‘Tri-State Combo’. Served on a toasted bagel and at less than £8, it was hearty and delicious(the slow cooked pulled pork of the New Orleans Moose element was totally delicious). The second visit, thanks to recommendations from fellow Unilocalers, saw an order of a stack of homemade American pancakes with blueberries at £6(because I deluded myself that having fruit would counterbalance the ginormous carb overload coupled with syrup and butter). Though their drinks menu appears to be focused on espresso-based coffee, they do sell some decent tea here with a generous pot ranging from £1.70 to £2.50. The interior is American diner influenced with some quirky design elements(look out for the chandeliers and wall art in particular) and if you time your arrival just right try and grab a booth in the back so you can also people watch whilst you dine. If you drowned out the sound of Manchester accents you could have expected to see a brunch of Ice Road Truckers coming in to order a gargantuan breakfast here. I’ve got a feeling they’ll have to crane me out of this place after my next visit.

Gerne wieder.
