Great location in central Manchester just tucked away in Dantzic Street across the road from Lloyds bar Very small, there’s only room for about 4 people to wait in line. Usual range of chippy delights. Amazing fish. Choice of cod, haddock or plaice cooked freshly to order. I had a cod with chips at a cost of £4.80. One of the nicest take away fish I’ve had. Helped by the fact that it was cooked freshly for me. Had to wait about 4 minutes for the fish to be cooked. Well worth the wait. Recommended.

Stopped in here on a warm, sunny September Saturday afternoon looking for a proper chipper. Just perfection. Had the cod with(Indian curry) chips. Solid joint, friendly service.

Okay, now THIS is the best fish and chips Manchester has to offer! I’ve had my share of the southern-style chips(dry, good fish though), as well as the northern/Manchester-style(wet, with mushy peas). I even enjoyed a lot of the chippies Manc has to offer. Enjoyed, past tense, because there’s no way I can go back after experiencing the pure heaven that is Manchipster Plaice. Their fish is a generous portion of perfectly cooked and textured pescadorian delight, served alongside thick-cut golden brown chips. The mushy peas look homemade and taste surprisingly good. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t even a big fan of the mushy peas before, but clearly that’s because all the other pre-canned neon green stuff turned me away from the pure deliciousness that can be brought out in the right hands. Centrally located near Printworks and Arndale, it’s an easy chippy to get to if you’re in city centre. Service was very fast and friendly. It’s a small place and doesn’t offer much in the way of seating, so it’s more of a takeaway than anything, but that didn’t stop myself and my mates from eating right at the storefront. Trust me, once you get your hands on this grub you won’t want to wait either. A burnt mouth is but a small sacrifice. Their website lists their opening hours from 11:30 — late; I know I went late in the evening, a bit before midnight, and they were still open, so it seems that they may vary their hours depending on how busy they are. Wouldn’t hurt to call in advance like we did. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – ETA: I went two weekends in a row(had to make sure the first wasn’t a fluke!) and indeed, this is my new addiction. I asked what time they closed on Saturday this time — the manager said 2 a.m., so it’s definitely there for late nights. The food was just as good as the first time around, as was the service. Because it wasn’t that busy when I went, when I ordered my cod and chips with mushy peas they pulled the cod fresh out of the fridge, battered it before my eyes, and fried it up. Can’t go wrong with that!
