Ate in the restaurant last week and the food was great. Would highly recommend the salt and pepper pork and chicken wings, also the peking ribs. Have had a few disappointing Chinese takeaways recently so this was a refreshing change, could not fault the food and will be ordering takeaway from Jade Garden from now on.

Like Angela, I can only speak for the takeaway service of Jade Garden. It’s good, but it’s not excellent. And so Becca’s search for the best Chinese in Manchester continues… Jade Garden offers a great menu of Chinese and Thai dishes, at decent prices. The Thai red curry is as fragrant and spicy as you could possibly want, and I am with Angela on the udon chicken; really tasty, and good if you fancy something drier than the usual. Where this place fell down for me, is on starters. The spring rolls were disappointingly small, the tempura was soggy and my hot and sour soup was a bit weird. As me and the boyf are firm starter fans, this is the main reason for us choosing, yet again, to go somewhere else. I would recommend Jade Garden if you just fancy a main, an I’m sure that the tempura would probably be crispier if you had it in the restaurant, as it wouldn’t have sat in a tupperware being driven over to you. Just a thought. Anyway, a solidly decent Chinese, but not the best.

I can only speak for Jade Garden’s delivery service, as I’ve never been into the restaurant myself. There’s a great selection of Chinese and Thai dishes on offer; portions are generous and they even give you freebies like extra dishes if you spend a certain amount. The Won Ton Soup and Stirfried Chicken Udon Noodles are definitely firm favourites, as well as the Thai Sweet & Sour Chilli for only £5 — the spicier the better as far as I’m concerned! Prawn crackers are thrown in for free and I’ve never waited for more that 45 minutes. Puts a smile on my face every time.

Situated in the middle of Didsbury village, the Jade Garden this is in a prime location for Didsbury’s lovers of eating out. However this is how Chinese restaurants were 15 years ago. With a really horrible and dated interior, the restaurant is not memorable in any good way with service that isn’t great and food which isn’t particularly satisfying. I would recommend you save your money and either go elsewhere or get a takeout which at least you can eat in the comfort of your nicely decorated home. With so many better Chinese establishments around I’m surprised they’re still going. I would give this one a miss.

This is my local chinese, well local in the fact thatits the nearest one to my house although there are loads of them in the locality. The Jade Garden is both a restaurant and a takeaway. The restaurant is small and can get very busy so I would advise booking at busy times. The management have also tried to cram too many covers into a small room and as a result you can often hear the conversations of those sat next to you. There are many better Chinese restaurants in the locality, the food is ok here although be warned they do use msg.
