Called onto the shop, I collect the pin badges, they have some limited edition ones, I particularly liked the valentines one they are around £895 each, one the counter they had some 2014 badges on sale £350 each bargain.

On Sunday 14th June I visited Hard Rock Café. All burgers were 71p for one day only as they were celebrating their birthday. Fantastic atmosphere, tasty burger and fries! Yum. Our waitress was a little on the pushy side though, never cool.

So nipped in here for a cocktail. It’s ok. I suppose it is what it is. A Hard Rock Café. We had a beer and a glass of fizz and even I was surprised as it was pricey and I don’t usually look at the costs. It was very bright and there was a couple in the centre table snogging. I mean. Public displays of affection. In the print works. Lol. Whatever floats your boat but almost made my fizz go flat it was so intense. We only stayed for one to kill time before cinema. I’m not sure if go back. But may do depending on the occasion.

As Ellie B commented below, this is my only real complaint not only about this HRC but all. Kylie is NOT hard rock or rock at all! Neither is the the annoying Canuck, Justin Beaver and Madonna. I am a Hard Rock fan however and love going to these cafes whenever I find one while traveling. This was my third time at this one and yesterday it was for lunch. The place had a nice crowd for Sunday lunch and as always, the food was not bad at all. I had a Texan style pulled pork sandwich with the trimmings, as did my friend(although he was more of a pig and had cheese and bacon on his). The waitress, from Romania, was fabulous. That’s the main thing at HRCs that customers(me included) take for granted — great service, or at least friendly service. Never had a bad server experience. This café isn’t one of the biggest ones that I have been to but its big enough to have a nice selection of memoribilia covering the walls. They also have the big HRC logo with Manchester written under it, which is always nice for a photo op.

I’ve always been a fan of Hard Rock Café. I think it’s difficult for anyone not to be. I’ve been to this restaurant in Manchester a good number of times, as well as some other Hard Rocks around the world and one thing you always get is good food and friendly, consistent, service. I met my parents and sister with her family here at the weekend whilst they were in town. My nephew(9) and niece(5) love Hard Rock. Kids get really looked after in here — our waiter was jolly and entertaining, having a bit of football banter with my nephew before he headed to the game and even wore one of Tilly’s stickers that she was handing out to everyone. The décor at this Hard Rock is the same as most others — filled with memorabilia and old guitars from past and present music stars. It just looks fab. The food is always good. Most of the table ordered burgers, but I went for the Twisted Mac, Chicken and Cheese — one of my favourites — and it was great as usual. The kids food gets served in a guitar shaped tray, which went down very well at our table. Overall, the experience in Hard Rock is fun. And the cocktails are good too!

My bucket list is to attempt to visit all HRC locations! So, I’m now crossing off Manchester location! Great location inside the Printworks building. Located downtown in Manchester next to the National Football Stadium amazing HRC sign in neon. Staff was extremely friendly to this foreigner and even though they had ran out of the classic pins one staff member actually traded me for a limited edition pin which was amazing! Food was consistent with all the HRCs I’ve visited. But again, my adventure to these locations is the history of music and not about the food.

I hate this pub/bar/café/inner circle of hell. I hate this pub more than I hate Piers Morgan, boy bands and the fact that I have not fulfilled a single one of my boy hood dreams. Infact, this is like a dream, a dream where you are having a wonderful and intimate time with your favourite person, and half way through it turns into your gran. Let me(you don’t have to, you could go back to staring at dwarf clown porn on the internet) explain: Hard Rock café has a reputation as a cool place, created to hoard and display rock memorabilia from the decades so that we mere mortals can sit an bask in associated coolness, drinking our drinks and pretending that we’re rock’n’roll. What you actually get is a kick in the teeth, from the moment you step in and fight your way through a sea of hormonally challenged chav’s on some kind of fight based mating ritual, to when you eventually get to the bar and stand there like a spare genitalia at a wedding, waiting for someone to notice you actually exist and serve you a pint. By the time you are being served, you need to order three times what you originally ordered as this will make sure you don’t need to go through the same ordeal for some time. The worst aspect of all this is the music. For somewhere showing rock memorabilia(Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys), it seems delusional that they would then choose to play Kylie Minogue and Europe. That’s like Manchester Utd selling tickets to a match and then inviting the Royal Ballet to do a performance. Or McDonald’s serving you crap instead… actually it is just crap. But you get my point, going here is like admitting you couldn’t care where you go, as long as your kindly carers keep telling you where to wonder in to, you will keep going. I hate this bar.

You’d think that a venue with a name like ‘Hard Rock Café’ would play hard rock, wouldn’t you? Well, if you’re a fan of this particular music genre, you might want to give the place a miss. Upon entering the restaurant-come-cocktail-bar I was greeted with the sounds of KYLIEMINOGUE. Yes, you read that right — KYLIEMINOGUE. I’m sorry but since when has the pint-sized popstress EVER written a rock song? Pffff! The décor was like false advertising — electric guitars, KISS t-shirts and gold records signed by rock legends. But where was the music to match? After Minogue, came an avalanche of ear-offending 80’s pop tripe. Needless to say, I did not stick around for more drinks. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. Perhaps HRC is usually packed to the rafters with leather-clad bikers and Metallica blasting from the speakers, but last Saturday was a poor show. I might give it another go some other day, but will they satisfy my need for hard rock? I should be so lucky…

comparatively less noisy than its other branches worldwide, but quite busy on the weekend, drinks and food are obviously a bit expensive. its fun to go and listen to sm rock here when you are not broke.

Hard Rock Manchester why don’t you have live gigs? Isn’t that the purpose of HRC worldwide? I like the décor, its retro, cool and exactly how a rock club should be. I can stare at the walls looking at KISS, Rolling Stones and Nirvana all day and yeah the Guitar on the wall looks just incredible. The only thing I keep pining for every time I go there is a live band! The nachos, burgers and Long Island Ice tea keeper is just what I love in an American pub but the price definitely makes my wallet cry after I am out of the place! But I wouldn’t mind paying that amount if there was a super awesome rock band playing some kick ass music and then the waiters did a YMCA dance at the end of every list!(How I miss HRC Mumbai). There is usually a long wait at the restaurants(min 45 minutes) on weekends so not the best idea to go there for a meal when you are staving! I like the tracks the DJ plays usually, classic 80’s rock and roll which is always a good company with friends and pitchers! The crowd is a mix of sophisticated working people and chavs(yeah you do find them there sometimes, I am surprised how they can afford it). I really want to give a 5 star but sadly I cant so will go with a 3 star! Verdict: Not HRC standard but well something is better than nothing!

Hard Rock you seem like somewhere I should be living in with my tastes in well pretty much everything. You play music I like to listen to, unless the lives band that’s on is crap You don’t care how I’m dressed waiting at the bar never seems to take too long as the bar staff are usually quick and efficient I like the décor I’m not a big fan of the price… I do like the Hard Rocks, I don’t have anything massively against chains, sometimes it’s good to know that there’s somewhere you can get what you know you’re expecting. I just feel I’m spending a lot of money in Hardrocks for what I’m getting. Plus the Manchester Hard Rock is kinda out the way for where I wander and inhabit, so I do have to make a concious decision to go there rather than wandering past and being drawn in by the musical sounds. I do need to eat here at some point, I ate at the one up in Edinburgh and was quite happy with what they gave, I’m hoping manc one will give the same offering when I get round to it. I feel the part that plays against HardRock for me anyways is the location. The Printworks is not a great place to go on a night out in fact I usually only go there for the cinema, if not for the cinema and HardRock you would be pretty hard pressed to get me there. HardRock will usually be one of my suggestions to go in town, however it’s location is usually what mothballs this idea when you could be pretty much anywhere else in town. Sadly the Rock shall only be rarely inhabited by me

Have to write an update. Another 4 star experience again. Necessary to post an update to corroborate my positive experiences to date on a business that has a much lower rating on Unilocal than expected. Sure, it’s busy and expensive, but. that’s part of the deal. Great service, even at busy times where the food is consistent(including consistently underwhelming in portion size). Menu seemed narrower somehow on this visit. Not sure if it’s different or if I remember it different. Main point of interest in this update: I was served within 10 minutes on a gig night(the Boss) after being informed I would have to wait 20 minutes. Given a wee vibrating device like you get in bowling alleys to let you know when you’re up. Hassle-free. The only place to go in Manchester before a big concert at the MCR.

Hard Rock… Robbie Williams. Hard Rock… Robbie Williams. Sorry, the two don’t go in the same sentence no matter how hard I try. Hey, I don’t care if he’s from Manchester, I’d rather see Liam flicking the V’s at me as I drink my strawberry daiquiri than Robbie’s gog-eyed excited mug. Then again if we’re talking Manchester, Hard Rock’s windows should be emblazoned with images of The Smiths with Moz in his big girl’s blouse and NHS glasses, and the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays dancing around like drugged up morons. Maybe New Order and Inspiral Carpets, James, The Charlatans… we could go on forever. Manchester’s Hard Rock offering has been here ever since the dawn of(time) The Printworks, and I for one was excited about it. You’ve got to remember, these were dark times. The Arndale Centre had been bombed, the adorable little rickety pubs in Exchange Square were having to be rebuilt brick by brick. And then along came Hard Rock. So American. So exotic. Burgers bigger than your face and cocktails the colour of watermelons. Breathtaking! And I’ve had a funny old relationship with it over the years. When I came here for my 18th birthday, I had one of the greatest meals of all time, a Portobello mushroom sandwich on delicious floury ciabatta bread with fries, coleslaw, the works. I’d always liked the nachos here and the desserts were to die for, absolutely gargantuan so best get two spoons. Then temporarily the menu changed. The Portobello mushroom was gone. I went in there on a really bad date and ordered a salad, knowing full well that in Hard Rock a salad is just about as bad for you as a burger. I thought, meh, it’ll be better than the date. Oh, wrong! I got a pile of iceberg lettuce, a couple of huge impossible to chew Beefeater tomatoes, and no dressing. I repeat — no dressing. Hard Rock had made me a meal straight from the webpages of pro-anorexia campaigns. Toto, we weren’t in Kansas anymore. So I then directed my attention from the food to the beverages, and one of my ultimate guilty pleasures — Hard Rock cocktails. I don’t know what it is about me and blended drinks, I think because my life was bereft of them for so many years I’ve been making up for it. The Hard Rock strawberry daiquiri… if I could buy that in litres, I would. It’s like a juicy frozen smoothie sorbet full of rum. Of course, its quality depends entirely on which member of bar staff makes it for you, but it’s more often a hit than a miss. Other greats include the Tropical Hurricane, which they did have to change the name of with respect to the people of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, and that lovely Alabama Slammer. Not frozen, but good. I could be losing all my cocktail cool points right here but yum. Then it had a revamp. I’d come in for a cocktail(of course) and half the café would be sectioned off for building. They were fashioning a ceiling and a floor in the shape of a guitar. It looked amazing. The memorabilia is ace, you could spend hours looking at it. Who knew that Lenny Kravitz was so thin and tiny? His jacket’s here, it looks like it could fit a five year old. Nuno Bettencourt’s signed something, and I’ve seen him live and he’s just lovely. Other great things? I was sat having a late afternoon drink(of course) with some friends and on came the video for ‘Weird Science’, the song brought out by Oingo Boingo(Danny Elfman’s band, Elfman being the composer Tim Burton always uses). Amazing. When on earth do I ever get to see that?(Okay, these were the days before YouTube.) It scores extra points from me anyway for constantly playing REM. There seems to also be a playlist obsession with Melissa Etheridge also, possibly in attempt to draw in Manchester’s lesbian crowd as we are of course the gay capital of the UK. Don’t argue with me, Queer as Folk was originally set in Canal Street, not Canada. Where was I. Oh yes, the menu. Back on form. I’ll forgive them that little blip, and now, you can’t knock the grub. Okay, it’s dreadful for vegetarians, but come on, this is American steakhouse fare, and the veggie burgers are some of the nicest I’ve ever tasted. Plus I eat meat now, and I’ve got masses more stuff to try. Plus-plus, the sides are great and big enough to be a meal in themselves. Indulgent, yummy, appeals to the kid in all of us and of course a great place to bring the cooler, more discerning child. If I have any anklebiters I plan to drag them here all the time, well, in moderation. Eric Clapton’s beloved pig sandwich may be off the menu but there’s still plenty here to give Change 4 Life a heart attack. Guilty. Pleasure.

Hard Rock café Manchester is a very lively and modern place to eat out in the heart of Manchester. Its got a really good atmosphere and live events on most nights if not every weekend and Friday at the very least. We always go for food or just a casual drink and end up making a night of it! The food is rather pricey but you get the quality for what you have paid and the staff are always very polite and friendly. Sometimes it can get rather rowdy on a weekend so eating earlier is more suitable especially for families. The cocktails are also rather pricey but not your common drinks so to some it may be well worth it or just a curiosity moment when you have the extra cash. Would definitely recommend but is far better when there is more of you rather than couples or by yourself.

Don’t waste your time here. The food comes in large portions, but is ridiculously expensive for what is not very good quality food. For better burgers in Manchester, try Kro Bar(Picadilly) or Gourmet Burger Kitchen(Spinningfields). The service is very intimate, and the staff often sit down with you and take orders /explain their menu to you, not that this is needed, as it is very basic and is primarily burgers and grilled steaks. +Interesting theme +Music videos play on walls +Friendly(possibly crazy) service +Big portions –Horrendously overpriced –Food is bad /nothing special –Very ‘personal’ service can be intrusive if you’re not expecting it –Service can become very slow when busy

I’ve never seen the appeal of the Hard Rock chain — memorabilia with dubious propriety and extortionate prices for burgers and the like but as this was a stag do trip I had to go with the flow. The range of beers isn’t that good(and you get little change from £20 for 5 Coronas), the Rock element is tenuous as far as the music’s concerned and the general noise level forces you to shout to be heard. Quality-wise the service was very good(marred only be a number of dusty champagne flutes initially being deployed, soon remedied) and the food was fine although over-priced. Somewhere best for entertaining children.

Manchester’s hard rock café, one in every city it would seem, across most of the world. This one has a rich history musically to dive into especially when thinking within the rock brackets. Pieces from oasis to the happy Mondays, hard rock has a wealth of crazy crap memorabilia to call upon, when considering what it needs to decorate the place with. It’s a big place that can become very busy but the staff are attentive and will see to your needs asap. Food is stereotypically American with big burgers, steaks, chips and anything with a high fat content and is cooked on a grill. Prices are okayish but you should be looking at getting an advance booking come a Saturday night otherwise things can get a bit mad. If you really fancy pushing the boat out they also have a big selection of cocktails.

I’ve been to a couple of the American HRC’s and quite enjoyed them. Maybe it’s because these were times before I discovered good food, maybe because my parents were paying or maybe they were actually much better than Manchester’s attempt. I’m not entirely sure, but I am sure that I won’t be coming back to this branch in a hurry. The food is really nothing special, especially the burgers, for which they are famous. There are a few guitars on the walls and signed memorabilia but certainly not enough to distract you from the averageness of the food and service. OK, so HRC is American which of course means that the portions are mahussive, but I’d much rather venture further into the Printworks to Nando’s where portions are also on the large side and it doesn’t cost over a tenner for a burger which tastes like it could’ve just as easily been ordered in Wetherspoon’s. I think you can probably guess that I didn’t buy the t-shirt to put alongside my 15-year-old HRCLA tee!

So Hard Rock café, king of the chain restaurants! It’s weird, a lot of people ask for directions to Hard Rock, I can’t understand why you would come to visit a city and yet visit a place that is the same everywhere?! If you’ve been to one, you’ve been to them all surely! So anyway, American themed restaurant in the centre of town, too central which means it’s busy all the time so service is very minimal. Food is ok but basic, nothing is amazing but it does the job. As it is based in the Printworks, you’ll find it heaving with hens and stags at the weekends so if this isn’t your scene, stay well away.
