Chunky Chicken

When this wilmslow road shop was under chunky chicken license everything about it was great (excluding the décor) apparently there were some issues and company cancelled their license owing to their strict quality control… No wonder they’ve gone down hill they started with «biggis» then tried to fool the customers by naming it «chunkyz» … Unfortunately still couldn’t get it right !!

The food is nice. I would have given it a 3.5 stars but the décor is just a visual catastrophe. The place is so red that usually it becomes impossible for me to identify red after I come out of this place. The place is a good and cheaper alternative to most fast food places in rusholme.

Brilliant chicken dishes sold here. Your usual greasy spoon-​esque type of takeaway. Great after a night out since it’s right down the curry mile and usually on the way back for most students from town. The chicken burger is really nice from here and the service is usually friendly and quite quick.
Interior is quite dark and funky and is open till the early hours of the morning.

It’s so red! This place screams the colour red and if you go there, you will know what I’m talking about. It has a typical diner look and gives it a casual pizze parlour feel to it.
They obviously do some really yummy pizza’s probably the best in Rusholme, since the area is mainly curry dominated. The staff is very jovial and friendly and always are ready to talk away with your meal, so even if you’ve come here alone, you’re leaving after making some good friends!
The food is cheap and quality exceeds the pricing! Definitely a topper in my charts!

Slightly different to fried chicken how? Chunky chicken is a bit of more «check out the new craze» style, with lots of shiny furniture, new signs and spotless kitchens. But it’s still just fried chicken in a box! For 2 something quid grab a box of fried chicken. Erm eat it with chips, on a table…

It is always nice to follow up a bad review with one that demonstrates exactly how they should have done it. Chunky Chicken is to Kansas Fried as being a boxer is to just punching a guy in the face; both are essentially the same thing, but you don’t feel as guilty doing the former.
I’d never actually been in until today, but I’d always thought it looked catchy and modern in passing. After a short tussle with the automatic door I was inside, and greeted with a slick design and friendly staff. I decided to try out the chicken burger meal, at the reasonable price of £3.49, and took a seat.
In short, the chicken was not over– or undercooked, the chips excellent and the drink fresh. And it arrived in less than five minutes. Now if that’s not good quality I don’t know what is.
