As far as train station coffee shops go, Caffe Ritazza is a good enough find. Upstairs — away from the general madness of the travelling crowds — it feels more relaxing than previous experiences in the likes of Starbucks and Pret. With about 30 minutes to spare before our train(I like to be early!) we decided to grab some lunch beforehand. The sandwich and panini selection looked good, and I had a simple meatball panini, plus a diet coke. It all tasted fine and the meatballs had much more flavour that I expected, plus a small amount of spice. It was simple enough to find a table and the view alongside good internet signal meant we could keep an eye on our train departure time and platform. A good additional option if the queues downstairs are too long.

Cafés at rail stations can often feel grubby, hurried and irredeemably unrelaxed. Café Ritazza is the antithesis of that, an open feel of space with a variety of seating choices and no shortage even on a busy day. Great sweet tooth options and good looking deli style sandwich options feel indulgent and not simply passing time to departure. They also have a good beer and wine selection. It’s position on the upper level overlooking Manchester Piccadilly concourse feels more like an airport departure than a train station. A great way to prepare for a journey and with visible info screens and clock no danger of missing your cue. Oh, and great coffee!

Better than starbucks(burnt coffee and tea), located on the first floor so it has excellent view of the board, so you won’t miss your train. nothing special about this place, the service is alright. However, in comparison to many of the cafes it is quite good considering many of them does not offer seating areas.

Caffe Ritazza serve a wide variety of snacks including pastries, croissants, sandwiches and refreshments. Had some time on my hands waiting for a train arrival, found Ritazza on upper level and decided to have a coffee. Service was quick and pleasent. Lots of seating and tables, also lots of very comfortable chairs and sofas. Got my Americano and found a comfy seat, and began to enjoy the refeshment and a bit of people watching. An asian girl, prob early 20’s went up to the coffee bar . She wore tall red wellies, Had to smile to myself, looked great for Glastonbury but this was inside Piccadilly Station’ on one of our most sunny and hot days this year. She then proceeded to fumble and drop a pound coin. look around, run after it and pick it up. Another quick fumble and there it goes the pound went rolling arlong the floor again. Picked up again and yet another fumble and yet again away went the coin. You had to see it to appreciate it. Will go there again on my next station visit. You can’t beat that kind of free entertainment. And the coffee was great too.
