Good job I was paying attention. How does ‘dairy free’ mean skimmed milk exactly? Perhaps this barista needs to find a more appropriate job!

I love this Nero! The new livery is awesome as it really makes the place feel like an indie without sacrificing what’s so special about Caffe Nero: its consistency, quality and sheer great service. I’m usually able to get a seat in here, even at the busiest times, but if the queue is long, be prepared to share one of the seating groups or long tables. The outdoor seating is completely sheltered so even on a rainy day you’ll be able to get some fresh air, if that’s what you want. The coffee, as ever with Caffe Nero, is strong with this one so head for an espresso-based drink without syrups if you’re looking for a real coffee. If you see me in here, say hi!

Caffe Nero city centre is very busy but there’s always enough seats for the people. They do wide range of cakes which are very lovely and a wide range of sandwiches and snacks and a variety of cold drinks. the staff was very friendly and helpful. they have outdoor seating as well but that’s mainly where the smokers sit

Only one on at lunch time, not a good idea for any business with only an half hour lunch break no matter how close. What do you think Mr Andrew Suddons?

Visited Manchester for the first time on Monday with my girlfriend after all the travel we decided to go for coffee in caffe nero. Once we got service and seated a woman began to shout profanities and threaten my girlfriend. After asking the staff to intervene and do something about it they told us to sit further away from the woman. The café was too busy and no other seats were free. The staff said there was nothing they could do so we so we had to leave. I cant understand how a café can allow its customers to be abused and threatened in their store. Never in my life will I enter a café nero again.

I thought one of the basic ideas of chains is that they are all the same? Well this Café Nero is way below par of all of the others I have visited. Today we popped in and ordered two drinks which are supposed to have two shots of coffee in them, but ours seemed to be hot milk. Very hot milk actually. We took them back and the lady re-made them and brought them to us. But whilst we were waiting(sat on the sofas) all we could smell was the bloody awful smoke from the smokers sat outside. The second round of drinks were brought over and were exactly the same! Completely void of all coffee like substance. I will be sticking to the Café Nero on the other side of the fountains from now on. Oh and on the entrance to the store was a massive mess of white paint which looked like it had been there a while and no one had bothered to clean up. First impressions are sometimes right…

I love the historical significance of this Caffe Nero. Blocking off what used to be the Lewis Arcade which«dog-legged» round to the frontage on Mosley Street. Lewis was the department store building Primark now occupies. The outlet to the left as you’re facing Nero was Wiles toy shop. Both Wiles and Lewis had window frontage facing into a covered arcade. «Ladies of the night» would take advantage of these features. Walking up and down the arcade«window-shopping» in the dry. While their customers presumably did likewise. These were the days when the accent was on dressing up rather than stripping off to «sell» your wares. You can see Lewis Arcade in it’s previous form in the final minutes of the Stanley Baker film«Hell is a City». Well worth watching the whole film to see the fantastic little nooks and crannies the Council flattened to build the Arndale. Not grand architecture by any means, but passages and courtyards with real character that would have offered interesting commercial and leisure opportunities in a modern C21st Manchester. Buildings worthy of some love and attention. The more I view of «old» Manchester the more I realise, Piccadilly aside, the Council often left the Blitz bomb-sites as simply Car Parks and flattened whole districts to build anything new. So, next time you’re eyeing up the passing talent from a Caffe Nero seat remember«people watching» one way or another has been going on here a very long time. PS Yes, of course Caffe Nero is the lesser of chain evils. Mine’s a hot choc with cream :)

Bah… I try and be judgment free when working out where of the big coffee places to enjoy a caffeine fix, but Caffe Nero rarely hits the spot. I think I’ve only ever found one that’s served me a halfway decent cuppa java. Maybe it’s the beans they use in Nero, but all the coffee based beverages always taste burnt or bitter, no matter what variety of espresso you order, and it doesn’t matter what branch you order it from, it all tastes absolutely rubbish. The only drink that it ever works in is an Americano, as the whole bitter coffee strong taste is something that doesn’t seem out of place in an Americano. Even the hot chocolates in here are below par. The milkshakes aren’t too bad though, unless everything is over blended, and then it’s a frothy mess, but, as a saving grace it’s not much. Style and comfort can only go so far when you’re paying £3 for a supposed luxury beverage. It’s not good enough, and even the nice sandwiches and tempting cakes on display can’t detract from the fact that the coffee is pants.

For some reason, Café Nero always feels less evil and corporate than Starbucks et all. And this city centre branch is one of my favourites. For starters, it’s quite big and so you can nearly always find somewhere to sit even on a busy Saturday! There is also some alfresco seating, so you can make like the French and enjoy a cigarette with your coffee. If you’re a non-smoker, you might want to sit out there and check out the action on Manchester’s permanently packed Market Street instead. I think the location is the best thing about this particular branch. Hidden away in a corner, just next to Primark, it’s a good, central place to meet friends. Still, the food and drink is pretty good, too. There’s a huge range of hot and cold drinks available here, as well as cakes, sandwiches and snacks. But if you don’t know your frappachino from your cappachino, worry not there’s also some simple coffees, hot chocolate and fancy fruit teas.

Oh no, here it comes. Café nero. I can’t help it, I need to say what I have to say. That place is really bad. Not the worst, don’t misinterpret, I’ve seen worse… but, I don’t even know how to begin. First of all, I’ll tell you the good news. Their coffee is quite cheap, they have good smoothies and nice cakes. They have a little garden where you can drink your coffee outside, and interact with your friends, and obviously smoke or just enjoy the sunshine. The problem is… nero is dirty. Really dirty. The staff is really rude, as I was with over 15 friends, most of us drinking coffee, and they said that we should move away if we don’t buy more coffee(or if there is someone not drinking one already). A coffee shop should be that lovely place where you forget about your problems, you relax, you are on a different planet. Not with them guys. I was disappointed, but hey, they still won a lot of prizes for being the best in the ‘coffee world’, so we might wanna give them some consideration there.

Nero is better than Starbucks and Costa because they put more coffee in every coffee and much less milk so they actually taste like coffees and not milk. The End.

This café Nero placed just at the start of Market Street is quite a café! I love it! They have the best tomato and basil soup which is thick and creamy and served with toast and butter! Yumm! I love the Locker wafers served here. The muffins and the carrot cakes are also on the top favorite list and makes way into 100’s of tummys! The café latte is not as milky and passes of as a good one, compared to the costa coffee ones. Good place when you want to wind up with a coffee or drink.

I can’t help admiring the status of this particular Nero: it is besieged by competitors! Costa Coffee is next door, Starbucks and a Debenhams café across the road, and yet another Caffe Nero in Piccadilly Gardens. But it is always full, and always has coffee lovers sitting outside enjoying their cappuccinos. I like sitting downstairs, but it can be a bit crowded there, of course. So, I tend to go to the top level where I can sometimes sit by the stairs and watch people at the bar. Due to its location, this Nero is not strong on natural light, which makes it good to visit with friends or that special someone, particularly if you get to sit upstairs. The only thing to be prepared for, whether you are sitting inside or outside, is an endless stream of people and bunches of Primark shoppers.

Nero is often forgotten due to its much more famous rival but if you ever havethe time, do pop into this coffee shop. This is located next to Primark in Manchester so the seats are often filled with weary men for whom Primark = hell. Its a great place to people watch. Back to teh subject in had — the coffee in here is lovely. Not as many adventurous concoctions but it doesn’t cost a fiver for a coffee either so its all good. The food is good, there are a selection of sandwiches and cakes. Tip — the passionfruit cake is to die for!
