Vodafone

My husband and I visited this Vodafone retailer and had perhaps the most painless mobile phone purchasing experience of our lives. The gentleman who helped us was friendly, efficient, and got us set up with temporary phones in about 10 – 15 minutes. He found us the slimmest phones available (perfect for my traveler’s across the body bag), and pre-​loaded them with the requested amount of money. The phones also took halfway decent photos and came complete with a charging cable which also doubled as a means of transferring the images to the computer.
On a random note, I did receive a couple of calls from numbers which I didn’t recognize while carrying the phone, but this may be common with temporary phones. (Perhaps the numbers are re-​purposed ?) In addition, Vodafone sends a good number of helpful text messages, and if they annoy you, you have the chance to opt out. All in all, I’d probably visit Vodafone again if in the UK, as they served us well while we were there.
