This little café opened a while ago in Finsbury Park but I now hear that people come all the way from South London to taste the coffee! I’m not a coffee drinker but my boyfriend goes here every day and the place has been so busy that they have had to add extra chairs outside. It’s such a friendly place with great staff, great for families too and they so delicious and cheap scrambled egg on toast! A must visit if you are ever in the area, a real local haunt.

Really happy that my friend/flatmate recommended this gem of a café. Just moved into the neighbourhood and was looking for a local café to replace Mouse and de Lotz — my go to coffee place by my old place in Dalston. What I really like about Vagabond is that the coffee is just as great AND the baristas don’t come off quite as pretentious as those in hipster-ville Dalston. If you’re looking for a nice cup of java, look no further — but do keep in mind that this place is pretty tiny, so good luck finding a seat.

My favourite coffee shop in finsbury park — and top top in north london. And im demanding. They work with ‘Has bean coffee’. They sell ‘keep cup’. Brunch till 3pm. Espresso in, 1.80 pounds.

A very welcome addition to Stroud Green Road. Hip, rustic and genteel all at once. The coffee is superb. I can’t account for the food, but on the basis of Uli’s words, this place has just made it onto my must visit list for breakfast.

This is exactly what the area needs! Great atmosphere and a nice peaceful place to go — it’s taken me ages to start going there as I always assumed it was packed all the time! The hot chocolates are really good — they use real chocolate — and though I haven’t tried any of the food yet, it looks good. And there’s free wifi too…

This is THE prototypical hipster hang-out! Seriously… and the fact that a place like this opens here in Stroud Green shows that this area is at the brink of gentrification. Being a closet-hipster myself, I really like it here: the interior is rustic and makes you want to sit down and read Tolstoy’s «War & Peace» — just because ;-) When I was here today, it was a perfectly sunny day and the outside area was buzzing with people having brunch. I saw the server bringing out a plate with an omelette and two thick slices of wholesome bread; that really looked awesome and I made a mental note to come back and try this. Coffee-wise, this is also a definitiv«yes» — so… why don’t you come here and see for yourself what the new Stroud Green is all about?

My favourite North London café. Fabulous coffee, a limited but good menu of cakes, pastries and omelettes and great tunes. The best thing is that all of this is wrapped up in lovely service doled out by the boys. A cracking addition to Stroud Green Rd.

There is good and bad aspects to this coffee shop which has recently opened just off Stroud Green Road close to Finsbury Park. The good comes, importantly, in the coffee which is well made using Has Beans. The décor is also nice with simple rustic wood used to good effect in the tables and chairs inside and those which are found in the small square outside. On a nice day, I can certainly see myself sitting here catching a few rays reading the paper and enjoying the aforementioned coffee. However, all this good work was let down by the pastries — something which is arguably far easier to get right. My pain au raisin was lacking in raisins and consequently looked a bit sad. It wasn’t improved by being a little stale. My companion’s almond croissant was similarly unsatisfactory, featuring an odd synthetic aftertaste. Still, for me coffee is king. Consequently, I am looking forward to kicking back at one of those outside tables should the British summer ever get started. In the meantime, I hope they sort out their pastries!
