Turtle Bay

I love coming to T-​Bay to get my Jerk Chicken fix. (And I mean their happy hour is pretty great too) my advice is to not come here on a busy Friday or Saturday night. The place gets jam-​packed!

The ambiance and cocktails remind me of American chains like Chili’s. However, the food is much better quality. As an earlier reviewer mentioned, the fish curry dish was delicious. And the employees and managers looked like they were having a good time, dancing to the music. This is a fun place to go, especially with a group; I probably wouldn’t go for a romantic meal.

Everything about this place made me think I was going to hate it. It’s a ‘caribbean’ chain with indoor market décor for a start. But it was good. Surprisingly good. The fish curry was one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten out for a while, with a huge chunk of fish, sweet potatoes and yummy rice and peas. The coconut ice cream on the desserts was soooo good and the Jamaica mule cocktail was the perfect icing on the cake. Our waiter was lovely, and the price was really reasonable.

If this review was only for the food and service, it deserved 4 – 5 stars. The food was great (as usual), service was really good too.
However, I couldn’t give more than 3 for the overall review. The men’s toilet was quite bad, one had to stand on a pool of urine to use the urinal. No one bother to clean? The floor of the bar area was very sticky, with bad smell of alcohol.
Some more tip: It’s not a place for a romantic date, more for parties. On a Friday night some were drunk, screaming or yelling. Just to let you know.

After hearing so much about this place I was very disappointed, the atmosphere is lovely, staff friendly but the food… The starter was lovely I must say but the main… I am a TRINI so I had the Trinidadian curry… Shocking… Nothing like my mother & family would cook. Would not go back sorry

Lively place on a Friday night. The staff is friendly, offering very good and prompt service, ensuring the guests are happy with the food and drinks.
As it was getting pretty late, we decided to skip the starters and ordered the mains right away. I couldn’t resist my temptation to go for a beef jerk rump spicy steak. I had it medium cooked and was pretty pleased with it, although I must admit it was pretty spicy! I ordered sweet potato chips as a side to go with the steak and these were absolutely delicious and worth a try.
It was after 10pm and happy hour, so we had two jammin cocktails for 1. Great deal for well made cocktails.
All in all I really enjoyed the vibe of the place and the food itself as well as the reasonable prices. 2 cocktails together with the two main dishes cost us only £30.

*I am not sure if I went to this location. But looking at the map it appears to be the one that I visited* I came here last week and I really enjoyed myself. We came on a Weeknight and the place was pretty full for a weekday. The staff here are so friendly, right as we walked in the hostess was smiling and greeted us (has rarely happened during my visit to London). The food was great, I ordered the Jerk Salmon, it came with a lot of salad. And for dessert I ordered BBQ Pineapple. I would probably order another dessert. I ordered Jamaican Mule & Koko Colada cocktails. They were great! I want to come hear during Happy Hour, and enjoy some more good drinks. I would definitely come back here again, it would be great for a (first) date ;)

Spontaneous visit on a Sunday afternoon. Hadn’t heard of it before so thought we’d give it a try. Great service throughout, cracking selecting of cocktails, gotta love a happy hour! Great menu with really good prices to match. Loved the ambience and the happy vibe. I’d definitely come back.

This is personally not my style of bar at all but my friends really wanted to check it out. It definitely seems like more of a restaurant and you really need to crave and enjoy Caribbean dishes if you’re coming here. I can’t speak for the food as we came here just for drinks.
It is one of the places that’s a restaurant but as it gets later in the evening there’s louder music, people are standing around and hanging out like a bar environment.
They do offer 2 for 1 drinks on a Friday evening at 10pm. I was in last Friday around that time but I don’t know what other nights they do or don’t offer this same special on. I didn’t care for the drink I had which was the Jamaican mule, it felt like it was missing something and maybe because I live in California where mules are the big drink out right now and they’re always served in the copper mule glasses unless you ask differently.
I would give this place 3 stars based on my experience and my preferences on what I do and don’t like but I’m giving it 4 stars as when I looked around the room people were enjoying themselves, talking, laughing, dancing and the group next to us said their food was delicious and authentic.

Went on New Years Eve and the place was buzzing. We had exactly the same as before and I am happy to report it was as great as the last time. Service was fast despite the massive numbers. As good as last time, so no flash in the pan.
