This place is definitely worth a visit. I’ve been here a few times, it’s pretty much consistently been super busy, but for some reason I’ve never minded. The beer garden is quite big, loads of seats(generally full in summer) and pretty nice. The inside is also relatively big, and there’s an upstairs too. I can proudly say I’m experienced all three of these location options and they were all equally amenable. The food is good, I had(shared) one of their sharing platters and it was really good(I ate that downstairs, inside). The burger was also pretty good from what I remember(I ate that outside, if you were wondering). The drink is also decent(I’ve drunk in ALLTHREE parts of the pub), I don’t remember it too clearly which means it works, it’s mostly just standard pub fare, with a few decent beers dropped in there for good measure. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, it’s a bit of a walk but it’s much nicer than some of the alternatives up nearer London Bridge. I have no idea why I got so fixated on the location of my consumption in this review.

Nice relaxed ambience, full of cool-looking young folk. Decent choice of wines and beers, though not cheap. Managed to find a seat despite it being Saturday night, so thumbs up. Recommended.

I’ll add my voice to the chorus here, just to draw your attention to the existence of the backyard«patio»(astro-turf). When that rare London sun shines, the patio starts humming and the atmosphere is vibrant. Drink selection is middling, with the usual fare on offer. The Brooklyn lager was good though. Definitely consider if you’re near the area and looking for a tucked away spot to enjoy the sun.

The Woolpack. Not the fictional public house on Emmerdale, but a quirky bar with a large beer garden in Borough. I say beer garden, it’s all artificial grass and whitewashed walls, but at least there are numerous picnic tables so you can at least pretend you’re not within a short walk of London Bridge Station. If you’re a connoisseur of real ale, you won’t find a particularly decent choice here unfortunately. The closest I could get was Brooklyn Lager, the rest of my group(uneducated in booze) opted for pints of mainstream lager. Though inside, with its sleek-looking booths, was pretty empty for a Thursday evening, outside was where you’d find the atmosphere. On a glorious day, if you couldn’t make it out into the countryside, you could do worse than setting your stall out here for an afternoon. Table service is available outside which was also much appreciated.

Really great pub in the middle of London that serves really good food at reasonable prices for central London. I find the wine isn’t as good as other nearby wine places but by all accounts the ales and beers are excellent and there is a decent choice. There is a lovely beer garden out the back which is great in summer too. The staff are all really good. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This pub has a great beer garden. Service can sometimes be slow but that’s mainly because it’s so busy on some days(esp Thurs or Fridays). But defo worth searching out if eating near Bermondsey Street. A regular haunt of mine when I was around area.

You’ll have to wait a while on a Sunday for at bake but the roast is worth it and they don’t time you like The Garrison opposite. Dog friendly as well which is always a good extra star from me.

Always super busy here, but worth waiting for a seat — especially fantastic when the sun is shining, as there’s a big outdoor eating area round the back. Particularly love that it’s dog friendly here! Often come here for a roast and a pint on a Sunday, it’s located on trendy Bermondsey street. Maybe not extensive vegetarian options, but there’s always something.

I’ve been here a few times with work colleagues, nice for an early evening after work drink, sunny garden(when the sun’s out of course!) Tiny gents toilet though, a bit intimate! There is great selection of beers and the food is typical pub food but nice, although a bit pricey. There’s a lot of seating, including an upstairs and the astro turf beer garden with quite a lot of seating(just need a big screen and a couple of goals). Nice pub atmosphere, the staff are generally OK but seem to get a bit cranky when it’s busy. A couple of times when I’ve been the card machines have not been working, so take plenty of cash.

Popped in here on a friday afternoon for a pint that turned into four! Pint of Mortimers cider £4.20. Lots of booths. Beer garden looked great for a sunny day. Friendly staff. Got quite packed with the after work crowd so if you are looking for a quiet place this may not be it. Had a couple burgers, not bad but nothing special to come back for.

They serve amazing Sunday brunch! I came here to meet up with some friends that were visiting. We had reserved half of the 2nd floor. Food: We went for the roast dinner on Sunday which was superb. I ordered the beef roast and I devoured it within minutes. At £15 it wasn’t a bad deal(considering I paid £14 at the Harvester a few days before). The roast dinner had all the trimmings: roast potatoes, steamed kale and veggies, pork and sage stuffing, and yorkshire pudding. My friends swore the pork loin and chicken roast was equally good. I wasn’t a fan of the mulled punch though. I found it slightly watered down. Atmosphere: The place was rather big, The restaurant had a backyard, and plenty of seats on the ground floor. However, it being winter, black wallpaper isn’t the best. I found myself trying to keep myself awake as soon as the sun came down. The large mirrors and candles did nothing to brighten up the room.

Had the pulled pork sub and Kirin on tap. Good food, decent prices. If I have any complaint, it’s that the wait at the bar is too long and they could fix up a few of the booths. The one I sat in had a huge rip in the upholstery. I’d definitely go back, though.

Two words: Beer. Garden. The woolpack has a great big beer garden. Like it’s pretty great, and big. So I’m a fan. It’s a great place to hang out when the sun decides to show it’s face — chilled atmosphere, drinks are average price and the crowd is friendly. I haven’t eaten here but have heard the food is ok — will be spending a fair amount of summer evenings in this area from now on.

The Woolpack is probably the best known pub on Bermondsey St, and is a short walk from London Bridge. To look at in on the tin, it’s a pretty normal London pub. Not too rough, not too upmarket either. What makes this place special is the huge courtyard garden which is well heated with lamps and out of the wind. Drinks aren’t expensive for the area, and if you need somewhere to go afterwards there is always Hide Bar nearby(my number one cocktail bar in the whole of London– see my review!). What makes me love the Woolpack even a bit more is that it’s very chilled out, they let dogs in(the canine kind, I know what you were thinking) which is AWESOME. Not enough London pubs do this. It’s like, a sure fire way to keep all the girls in the bar cooing over the amazing black labrador that is often in there. I like this place and I will be back. I haven’t tried the food yet(bar some chips, which were good). Once I’ve scouted that out, I’ll update my review.

What a ceiling upstairs! we spent some good drunkard time trying to spot the bar staff that have been superimposed. good stuff. A good pub on a lovely street. Staff that would pour your drinks while you popped to the loo. Amazing chips. the only thing that let this place down was the overwhelming stale beer smell as you walk through the door! wow! BOOM! BEER!

Really busy festive crowd in here last night, from office bods with ‘zany’ Christmas jumpers, to student types with ‘zany’ Christmas jumpers on. The food was ok, my Fish and Chips were ok, but my friends burger was really good and i was gutted that i didn’t have one. Don’t take your eye off your drink for too long as the staff are a bit eager to clean up the tables even if your glass isn’t completely empty.

This is a good standard pub. There is a really pleasant beer garden in the back which can get quite crowded on nice days. The food is fine. This time we shared some chips, pork scratchings and mackerel pâté. All were well prepared but not necessarily anything to write home about. Service can be surly. Wow, what a bunch of grumps!

London’s equivalent of The Lord Clifden(Birmingham). Large and cool pub which is very popular as i was recommended this place by others. Very vibrant and busy with crowds of people as well as couples. Excellent selection of quality and premium beers on draught. Friendly staff. Decent size beer garden out back for when the weather picks up. Food menu looked very nice. Further seating area upstairs. This pub is definitely worth starting out in and even making a night of it. Atmosphere is buzzing, yet everyone seemed chilled out. From my experience, I can say i would return here without undue hesitation.

A pub. With a beer garden. In a nutshell. Well there isn’t much to say about this place. It’s a usual pub which punches you with a sour smell of booze as you come in. Its advantage is a beer garden of a good size — about 6 – 10 tables outside — it has a very private feeling. On a warm sunny evening — there could be nothing better than this. Mind, though there isn’t many warm sunny evenings here anyway! Friday evening queues are super long(that could be quite fun at least that’s how I keep myself entertained — talking to strangers in a queue). The toilets are quite horrible to be honest, I remember once they painted them on a Friday morning. Not sure if that was some kind of a joke for the drunk ladies of London bridge on Friday night. Tip if you are going there: 1. Go on a sunny day to enjoy the beer garden thoroughly. 2. Get rounds rather than drinks individually — you will spend ages in a queue otherwise.
