Liked: — interior clean — friendly service — fish and chips! — had a junior(kid’s) menu — beer selection So so — even though empty, service was slow Overall: good pub option if you are in the area

Great food and friendly staff. The meat pies have homemade crust. The lamb pie was amazing.

Food was awesome! My mom order the steak and London pride pie and I ordered the sweet potato and cheese pie. Amazing and filling. It definitely hit the spot! Staff was alright. The side salad and side of greens were on the small side. I Would definitely go back :)

Despite having had the pies here before(they’re know around here for having quality pies), I realised when I came here last Friday that I hadn’t been for a good four or five years. I can’t fathom why, I’ve always liked the place. As it was a Friday evening, it was packed but fortunately we’d reserved a table for a colleagues leaving do. Good selection of beer on offer and the staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations. One of my friends got what was described as a largerised beer(which was a new one on me). I didn’t eat, but several colleagues had pies and they were unanimous in their praise. The only downside was that they were out of the Guinea Fowl one. Disaster! We had all eaten pheasant for lunch and the quail is best served on Sunday’s. Joking aside, there was plenty other choices and the service was quick.

The location is perfect due to the proximity of our hotel. So we decided to drop in for a little dinner. It took a while but our waiter finally appeared. She had trouble understanding it seemed. We ordered the Lanark Lane Sauvignon Blanc. The wine was served and it was a good choice. When we saw our waiter again we ordered the Oilive tomato salad which was good but the dressing was a little on the sweet side for me. We then had the fish pie. With salmon, cod and prawns. It was my first experience with a British Pie and we really enjoyed it it was hot, and had a good mixture of ingredients and very tasty. To finish we ordered onion rings. They seemed to be a little on the brown side(over cooked) but were more flavorful and quite good. Then we decided to have a bottle of wine to close the evening. We ordered a bottle of Louis Latour White Burgundy from someone else because our waiter was nowhere to be found. After a few minutes our new waiter returned to inform us that they had the wine but not chilled, and if we wanted to wait they could chill it in the blast freezer — it would only be about 5 or 10 minutes. Well about 15 or more minutes the manager returned with the wine and it was not not chilled enough for most people’s white wine tastes so we requested it to be chilled more. That took another 15 plus minutes and we finally got our wine. Overall, the food was good but the service just didn’t make the grade.

Based on how polarized the reviews are for this place I feel like my opinion would keep to the middle. This pub is strategically located and has nice interiors. Service is good, not great. For this part of town, there seems to be a fair amount of local patrons. Food is pricey but good. Would deserve more stars with more diverse choices on the menu and improved service.

Excellent pub fare. Great fish and chips. The best I’ve had in London. Wonderful clean pub atmosphere. Perfect location a few blocks from Westminster Cathedral.

Nice looking pub with full selection of Fullers ales. They open at 7am, which is great for breakfast but they don’t serve beer until 11am. Staff is not exactly rude but not particularly friendly either. Service is slow, slow, slow.

I liked the location but that was about it. The service was slow. The waitress didn’t know how to describe any of the food. After waiting 10 minutes for the bill a mouse ran past our table. When I informed the waitress she said«we are aware of the problem». That was a first and last experience for me.
