This pub is nothing too special in the scheme of London pubs, but in its simplicity is a nice place to grab a pint. Met some friends here after a meeting around the corner and we had a nice time in the quiet pub. Great service, proper pours, and a pleasant stop.

Perfect. Second visit and already feels like home. The barkeeper is friendly and knows what we need, the bar is clean and most important: it is still open when the rest of London sleeps.

There are quite a few bad bars on the Minories, in my opinion, but this might be the exception that proves the rule. It’s not amazing, but it’s decent enough and looks good in contrast to the competition.
They have good ales on tap and a pleasant looking upstairs room. There was sport on a large screen downstairs, but only at one end of the pub, so you could avoid it if you weren’t particularly interested.
I like peacocks. How did such a pretty bird end up with such an unfortunate name?
