If it’s character and cake you’re after, then it’s character and cake you’re gonna get. This place is as quirky as the latest trendy up and coming east London place just without the bearded 20-something year olds in their grandfathers’ patched up jacket. Fantastic décor and delicious coffee. Try the soup of the day, especially if it’s the pea soup. Delish! Lovely staff, too. Favourite place in Forest Hill.

Can you fall in love with a place? Because I have. Maybe it is me and my love for vintage things, old furniture, good coffee and pies and music from the 40s but… Maybe the place it is just amazing. The minute you walk in, you feel welcome, at home. Around you you have old furniture, several objects on sale and you are free to walk around and take a look at everything they have. Now, there is a wide selection of food. Pies, sandwiches, you name it, they even had a vegan pumpkin pie that was delicious! The coffee is good and at least I can tell you the pie was excellent. The prices are reasonable and the girl behind the counter was really kind and plain amazing. Will definitely come back and if you are reading this, go!

This gorgeous café/gallery in Forest Hill played host to some fascinating dry point etchings by the artist Ti Parks this weekend. Beautiful cakes and great coffee from the Polish owners. I will definitely be back.
