Lovely community pub, wonderful view and great location. That’s why this is irresistible to local ppl living around. Food is very concerning though, but nothing you can do much in this country. Sigh! It’s Pub Food we call it. Nice live-in owners, been here for long time. Cannot really miss it from the life :)

I have been here a few times and what wins it for me are the sofas and the prawn cocktails. It’s getting hard to find anywhere that does a decent prawn cocktail but this place has it right. Having ordered food a number of times, the portions are GREAT and the variety of what’s on offer means that despite having allergies, I have a lot of choice. I have never had a problem with the service and while the décor is a little dated, it’s the variety of signs and bits and pieces that are rather likeable. Being by the water is pleasant, too. If they could improve in anything, it would be cheering up the toilets a bit.

This part of London has suffered from many pub closures over recent years thankfully the Moby Dick has survived and appears to be going strong. In addition to the lovely location overlooking Greenland dock(not surrey docks) three things I particularly like about the Moby Dick are the friendly staff, the well kept beer and the home cooked food. The beer selection is mostly from Fuller’s and is kept in pristine condition. The home cooked food is both well priced and often includes daily specials. This pub is a pub doing food not a pub trying to be a gastropub. Well worth a visit.

Oh dear what a disappointment. This pub is in a fantastic location by the Thames overlooking the beautiful Surrey Docks and catches the best part of the sun with lots of outside seating… however. What a dump! the staff are rude and the service is appalling. The atmosphere is uncomfortable, the seating is uncomfortable and dirty. and the décor looks like a 90’s old men’s club come sauna with so much pine I feared for our forests. I had a glass of wine and when I mentioned to the bar tender that it tasted off and asked for a splash of lemonade to take away the taste(not a refund, or another drink just a dash of lemonade in it) he snatched my glass tipped some into a spare and tasted it — told me it was fine and gave me the glass back… oh and the glass had lipstick stained on it which I didn’t even get round to mentioning as they were so rude. Its such a shame this pub is so awful as there aren’t many in that area and it would be an ideal spot for a lovely local pub especially with all of the development in the area and new people with no where to go for a drink.

Quite honestly, the moby dick is a fairly decent pub. It may not be as lively as other similar eateries nearby, and the food is hit or miss(excellent all day breakfast, good fish and chips, awful curry, but if you are looking for a relaxing meal in a cozy little restaurant, you might actually like this.

My friend lived right around the corner from this pub so when I was staying in London I went here a few times. I had gotten a veggie burger which was nice. Nothing too special about it. The drinks were pretty cheep too and they had most things on tap. We went for a night or two here which was nice ’cause it was so close. Definitely a good neighborhood pub. It was a bit cold but I bet it would be very nice to sit outside here ’cause you’re right on the water.
