Co-operative Food, Glorious Food! Cheap Sausage and Mustard! This new Co-operative Food location in Wandsworth deserves it’s praises be sung to the high heavens. It has become my number one place to hunt and gather dinner. If you’re a day-to-day shopper like I am, then dive right in to the bargain basement prices that line the aisles. Look low for the Reduced to Clear sections where most(preservative-free) co-op brand ready meals and class I meats are 50% off or more. I get my 3-course lunch for under £2 on a daily basis. If multi-buys are more your style then get your five-a-day with baskets of fruit like plums, kiwis and grapes at 5 for £4. Also, find your British, pesticide aware berries for 3 for £5. Here’s one of my favourite purchases, Yeo Valley organic yogurt priced at 2 for £2(they are usually £1.79 each in my local Sainsbury’s.) If I haven’t convinced you yet, on my table tonight was a stuffed whole chicken, fresh head of broccoli and basmati rice which cost me just £3.68. There is clearly no site of credit crunch in my kitchen. Recession busters rejoice, eat until your hearts content and be environmentally conscience while you do it.
