The Clapham Tandoori had zero amount of patrons when we walked in on a Friday night and questioned if we had a reservation. So that’s how the evening started. The food that was claimed to be spicy had no spice. I asked for a little bit spicy sauce or pepper. What they did was to bring a large bowl of hot sauce(which was still not hot) and charge me £4 for it. It is expensive and food was bland. We will not return.

This New Year’s Eve rather than have to face the cold weather and five-deep-queue at the bars… and a take-away curry, cocktails and fireworks on the tele seemed a much better option for my friend and I. She is a Vegan, so I knew that I had to be careful what I ordered. Firstly, they have an online ordering system, which is easy to use and meant that I could specify the vegan requirements… and it actually allows you to allocate who’s dish is who’s(i.e. I could write my friends name next to the dish ordered, so that they could doubly ensure that it was 100% vegan). They even called me up to check if we really wanted one of the dishes as it contained a milk product which we both didn’t realise… and so changed the dish without any fuss. A very good system and excellent customer service. Of course we ordered too much… but it meant we had something to soak up our hangovers the next day! The food was superb… really one of the best Indian meals I have had… very tasty and full of flavours, not greasy(as so often it can be), and well presented.

The worst indian food restaurant in LONDON. .Had ordered food from here. but everything we ate was either too sweet or had too much turmeric. .when I called them to ask about the same they said that is the way they make it. can’t believe how rude the customer service guy was… he slammed the phone on me… will never recommend this place. .won’t even give it one star

I used to live near here and it’s one of the things I miss most. I can’t remember how many times I ate here, trying so many things on the menu(the lamb special whose name I forget and the saag paneer are particular favs). Good quality food, good value, a good range of food, no problems with the customer service. Hard to think of anything I could criticise, which is definitely a good way to be.

I really liked it a lot there. You even get an orange after your meal and great small warm towels for your hands. Definitely a place I can recommend.

Clapham Tandoori is a few metres away from Clapham Common tube & look rather fancy. I only used this place for the first time this week for a take-away. The staff is really trying hard and is very helpful. I was unsure what to get and they took the time to ask me questions on my tastes and advise me. But I was really disappointed with the food overall. My lamb was dry, the rice was dry, everything was«eatable» but simply not very nice from start to finish. And this is not what I was expecting actually, even to take-away! So no, I think I won’t give another go until someone convinces me otherwise.

The map’s got it in the wrong place. Right turn and across the street from the Tube station. Expensive-ish, bland-ish, not so bad, but not anything to get excited about. Posh curry, but not, really. Not super greasy, though. But you’ll spend way more dosh than you expected you did.

A decent Indian restaurant on Clapham High street. The Clapham Tandoori is chic, centrally located and reasonably priced. Does it beat Maharani? No. Does it beat Golden Curry? Probably. Recommended dishes — Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Sag, Bombay potatoes and Lamb madras. All were great.

First night in London our group of around 12 was running around Clapham trying to find a place that would feed a bunch of Americans at 11pm… thankfully the Clapham Tandoori was more than accommodating. So, in Ann Arbor, our Indian restaurants are very… Indian in décor. So I was quite impressed to see a modern looking restaurant and a well stocked bar. The chutneys and popadoms were very tasty, and brought out quickly. For the main meal, I ordered the butter chicken, since that’s once of my favorite dishes back home. It was ok, but it wasn’t amazing. I tried someone’s chicken tikka masala, and I liked that better. In general, the flavors were a bit different than what I’m used to, perhaps I like more spiciness? I noticed that I wasn’t able to choose the level of heat. However, I feel that while the food isn’t bad, this place definitely emphasizes the dining ambiance. The service was great, however. Everyone got their correct order, and we were given complimentary shots and chocolates at the end of our meal. I appreciate that the staff went out of their way to give us a good dining experience well past closing time. I also enjoyed the Bollywood videos on the wall!

This is one of those modern Indian restaurants with shiny surfaces, bright colours, and none of the clutter you associate with a more traditional take-away. As such, it lacks the charm of its ancestor but the food makes up for it. I have been there for a couple of late-night sit-down meals and always been pleased with the result. Plenty of popadoms and chutneys were provided and there are excellent main dishes at a reasonable price. The garlic naan was lovely and a vegetable biriyani excellent. A friend always goes for the dopiaza, which he assures me is the best in Clapham. This isn’t the sort of restaurant I’d choose to go to for its interior or ambience(the music can be a little on the loud side), but for the food it’s excellent. Take-aways are also available.

This is a great little curry place in Clapham which is perfect for those jumping off the tube who want to grab a nice filling takeout and go home. They have a huge menu incorporating all your usual Indian meal options, but all done very well. My fave is the chicken balti with rice and garlic naan, not tremendously exciting but hits the spot here. They cook everything on demand and also deliver so you have lots of options, including dining in, which I’ve never done so… Great place after a few drinks when the stomach needs more than hops to satisfy it!

Always a good takeaway option, though slightly overpriced. All the sauces taste quite similar so go for really different items. Or go for the Sagaloo which is great.

The food wasnt that great here. I felt the chicken I got in the Chicken Tikka Masala wasnt well cooked enough and I didnt get very good portions. The service was quite good and I cant say that it was very expensive but I just think quite simply its not worth going to. There are a lot of restaurants in Clapham and I havent been to any yet that I thought were good.

I’ve yet to dine in here(the place looks a bit pokey from the outside) but the delivery meals I’ve had have always been AMAZING! Fresh, distinct flavours, hot and well packaged(they include hand refreshing wipes and a lollypop with every delivery) I find myself dialing Clapham Tandoori all the time. Great menu with all the classic dishes you’d expect, and plenty you wouldn’t.

Really good curry — even their modern dishes are good. At £11 a course you are paying for what you get BUT and this is the trick to remeber, on Sundays for takeaways, Mondays for eat in they do a special offer and for around £12 you get a starter, main, side, and rice or naan. bargain. Great for groups, just don’t plan on hitting the ale after, the food’s so good you really won’t have anywhere left to put it!
