Things I need from this store: 1. Irish linen dish towels 2. Leaf-patterned demi spoons 3. White-washed ceramic salad plates They have food, wine, and the usual Italian accoutrement as well. But right now I’m just obsessing about the pretty little extras they carry!

I love it a’ when a store makes a pasta as good as my mama Moretti. It is a’ very hard to do, but this a’ store it a make a’ good food. Primo, secundo, tertio I a’ want them all a from this store. My amica and I, we a’ went into this store because we loved the look of the food. A worker, she a’ walked around with a tray of sweet bread and gave us a sample. Mama mia! Delizioso. I looked at all they sold — so much a’ like my mama’s kitchen. So much a so delicious looking. Olives, focaccia, antipasto, Parmigiano-Reggiano, carne, formaggio — mio Dio I was in a’ heaven! There were a also so many nice sauces and jams. I a’ wanted it all, but it was a’ little bit a’ expensive. Not expensive like a gondola ride in a Venezia, but a bit a more than a cannolli on the streets of little Italy in New York. I think when I a’ go back and a buy lots of things, I will have a good a’ job. Then I will be happy like when I a’ sit a in the Tuscan sun on the hills filled with olive trees a’ eating my mama Moretti’s cooking.

Nice deli this is. As always with these sorts of places they get their pride from the freshness and quality of their product. I think it’s actually run by a chef and in general it veers more towards prepared gourmet style take away food to eat out rather than just being a shop for up market waters and lemonades. In honour of this they do lots of soups of the day and are also well known for their lunchboxes. Pretty expensive they are too(£5.50) but they’re completely substantial. We’re not talking about a sandwich and an apple or even crisps this is a slice of pie and a salad, that sort of thing. There’s the usual insanely big selection of olives too and plenty of friendly staff to help out.

… just stumbled across this delicatessen on my way to the office. It is a bit off the beaten track, but I am sure this won’t have been my last visit. Apparently they prepare a selection of lunch boxes — I was lucky enough to catch the last one. Consisting of a generous slice of Spanish tortialla, a mixed salad and a slice of foccaccia, this was a healthy and filling lunchtime treat at £5.50. I saw and smelled lots of lovely delicacies which might come in useful for impromptu dinner parties.
