Happy FTR Feb everyone! ;) I needed a posh dress for an awards ceremony thing, which was the perfect opportunity to dig out a pink number I’ve had gathering dust in the back of my wardrobe since final year uni. I took it in for a dry clean to spruce up, conscious of the fact it hasn’t been the same since a spillage from years ago, and the dry-clean at the time managed to fade it but not hide it. I popped in here at lunchtime so had a bit of a wait, but once at the front of the queue the eagle-eyed woman spotted the faded stain straight off. ‘What’s this?’, she asked immediately. ‘Err that would be from a homemade cocktail I spilled down the front years ago, concocted by a wannabe bartender uni mate of mine while under the influence and containing a lot of blue curacao, some tequila and something else probably equally hideous during a particularly raucous graduation dinner’, I thought. ‘No idea’, I said. They managed to fade the stain further so it was almost unnoticeable(yay), and it arrived back in their standard 48 hour turnaround time(you can pay up for faster service). I thought it was a little steep at £15 for a dress clean though(plus I recently read an article that said women are forced to pay more for dry cleaning anyway in this crazy world but hey that’s a whole ‘nother kettle of annoying fish) but it does have the convenience factor for me being a stone’s throw from my office. Be prepared to ‘fess up your spillage secrets to the woman on the till though ;)
