I have never understood the fascination with Byron’s burgers. I’ve been a few times with friends but I think I am done with it now. My main complaint is that the meat is a little dry and tasteless. I had to dip it in loads of ketchup just to give it flavour. The menu is simpler than the likes of GBK. Service is fine.

Great food, bizarre service. I came here with a group for dinner whilst on a job. I was the only one who had been to Byron before so I recommended the Oreo shake, which is always superb! They all took their chances on the rest of the menu. One of our group wanted to try out the Freddar Dog and asked the waiter if he’d recommend it? He replied, «It’s not bad, if you like your burgers shaped like a penis» I mean, I’m sure it was supposed to be banter, but this along with a few other comments throughout the night gave us the impression that this guy did not take his job too seriously! The food was good and arrived very promptly, and everyone was happy with the choice, we just found the waiter a bit inappropriate.

Interesting branch of this franchise. It is clean and well organised. The staff is friendly however it feels disorganised. I also am not a big fan of burgers and hate soy meat so a big no no from a vegetarian…

Great burgers and a good beer selection. Convenient location right near St Paul’s. The B-Rex burger is a ripper!

For vegetarians: although I eat meat, I often order veggie burgers, partially because I think they’re a useful metric of a burger restaurant’s full range. Do I make sense? What I mean is that veggie burgers are like checking under the rug to see whether the cleaner stashed dirt there. They tell you how committed to being a truly good restaurant a place is. In 2015 London, vegetarian options are still woefully oversimplified and bland. Byron’s bean burger tastes like the frozen patty it spent most of its life as. Also, the chips are basic and small. Milkshakes for £4.25 seem just north of what I’d ideally pay, although I concede it’s competitive for London. Bottom line: Hey, look, another burger concept.

I like this branch of Byron. The staff are very friendly and you usually don’t get over or under serviced. However, it might get busy during weekdays around 7−8pm-ish. The trick is to go a bit earlier around 6.30 if you want it to be more quiet.

Outstanding burger, perfect fries w/skin on and hand cut. Cooked a perfect medium, great Byron sauce, red onion, fresh juicy tomato and crisp lettuce served on a fantastic bun. I choose mine with bacon and an aged cheddar. The bacon was outstanding and the cheese was great. One of my favorite burgers anywhere in the world. Great beer selection as well.

Continuing my un-official quest to review all Byron’s, this location on the first level of One New Change has that classic after-work-drink ambiance. The quality is the same as the other Byron’s I’ve frequented, which is to say it’s PERFECT.

I tried this Byron on a Friday evening and was really pleased I did. The service was warm, friendly, calm, collected and very efficient. We both had the cheeseburger(American cheese) and shared the skin-on fries. The burger comes as medium, which may have been a smidgen too rare for me, as it was a little red in the middle. But, it was tasty, the bun was light and fluffy and the gherkin they serve on the side was crisp, tasty and just right. What made this meal though was the chips! Gorgeous, chunky, crispy yet fluffy inside. Absolutely delicious, and normally I don’t much care for chips! Will definitely be returning after a few trips to the gym to counteract those fries!

Had my first Byron here so may be biased! It was so good. I recommend you go for ‘well done’ burger as if you don;t specify you’ll get it pink inside. Had cut chips and onion rings are great sides although people In were with raved about the macaroni cheese. I’m not into that so didn’t give it a try. Camden beers on tap and dessert look good, hard to save room for that though, especially if you start with the delicious big, bright green olives!

Very disappointed with this branch of Byron Burgers. I have been to a couple other Byron’s before and been very satisfied. We went to try their special burger, the ‘chilli queen’. The bun was nice and so was the sauces but the patty. Even though the patty was pink, it had definitely not been cooked fresh and seemed like it had been on a heater. The meat was really dry and quite disgusting. The accompanying chips were even drier, powdery even. They were simply inedible so got our money back. A real shame because this chain is usually so reliable.

I thought about using a line from one of Byron’s poems as a hook, but let’s be honest, I’m literally that good. However, thankfully, Byron’s burgers live up to its namesake(I’m just going to assume here that for some reason they named a burger chain after a famous poet). Byron is all about the burgers and, while I imagine they do have something else on the menu, I went there strictly to try it out and see where it stacked up in my quest for the best Burger in London. And to be honest, I’d rank it in the top half but not worthy of the crown. I opted for the«Byron» burger as I felt that should give me a good idea of the quality of the joint. It comes with dry cured bacon, mature cheddar, and some mysterious Byron sauce(which to be honest reminded me a bit of the McD’s special sauce). The meat was tender and flavourful and perfectly medium. Slight problem was that I ordered medium rare but it’s a burger so not much of a problem. The bacon was invisible in all but calories and didn’t add much to the overall taste. The cheddar was good and provided a sharper note to the meal while the Byron sauce smoothed things out a bit but didn’t stand out as anything in particular. The bun was soft and slightly sweet and best of all didn’t break apart in the eating like so many too dry buns do. The skin on chips were delicious and in great quantities demolished. The regular string fries were also tasty but not as crispy as I would have expected or hoped for. Special mention must be made to the Byron Pale Ale which perfectly suited the burger and was light yet slightly hoppy. I happily washed down the burger with a bottle of it. Overall, it’s a good burger with a solid meat foundation, few(if any) flaws, and a decent size but lacking anything to make me sing for joy. Price wise, it’s a tad expensive but not overly so with a burger and fries being around a tenner. It’s a good stable choice and great for a catch up meal although they do have a tendency to pack the diners in one area and privacy is not really possible.

3.5 stars for this Byron location. A solid gourmet burger joint located in the mall One New Change. Byron has a whole bunch of locations scattered around London, and I was glad to find one near my home. I ordered my cheeseburger medium and it was essentially well done, but I tasted the potential. Not too crowded on a Saturday night, I’d come back to satisfy my American burger cravings.

Normally I am highly suspicious of veggie stuff on the menu of a burger restaurant but I have to say, and this might be the goat’s cheese talking, but I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here.
