Lovely bakery in Hampstead Garden Suburb. We came here on a Saturday morning and the bakery/​café was busy with locals from the surrounding area. What I really liked about this shop is that everyone seemed to know each other — people were greeted with names, a little gossip exchanged, etc.
We sat down for a coffee, as we were waiting for the bathroom showroom across the street to open up. While we were sitting down, they stocked up the display cabinet with freshly baked doughnuts, that were filled with raspberry jam. They came in bite-​size and big-size…we couldn’t resist and ordered a couple. They were just delightful. (In Germany we call these «Berliner»).
This is a really lovely find and I will definitely stop by next time I’m in the area. Mind you, it’s not one of the now ever so popular fancy bakeries that open up all over London. This is a proper old-​school bakery and I really appreciate this!
