Serves as the lounge for SAS and Air Canada. Good place to relax before your flight, grab a bite to eat, and freshen up. There are 2 levels and the lounge is fairly large, although it can get busy at times. Your usual selection of cold light foods(salads, pasta salad, cheese and crackers, crisps, biscuits, etc.) Decent selection of liquor, juices, as well as still and sparkling water taps — a nice touch. Comfortable seating. The lounge aims for a fairly modern look, albeit a bit Ikea-esque. Complimentary Wi-fi in the lounge, as well as plenty of outlets, is much-appreciated, since Wi-fi is limited to 45 minutes only otherwise. It’s definitely a good option for Air Canada/SAS travelers, but for Star Alliance Gold, the Singapore Airlines lounge is bound to be better.

This SAS lounge is at London Heathrow terminal 3 between the gates and the tax-free shopping area. It is probably the best SAS lounge outside scandinavia, with a wide variety of food, newspapers and magazines, lots of space and a nice children’s play area(separate room). Their WiFi and widely accessible power-outlets enables this lounge to be a well functioning office for the nomad worker.

The SAS lounge serves the Star Alliance carriers operating in Terminal 3. It is spread across two floors and fairly spacious, although quite crowded the morning I was there. They offer a plentiful assortment of snacks and appetizer-type foods, albeit with limited regard for quality or presentation. The usual array of hot and cold drinks, and alcohol is also available. The array of newspapers and magazines was pretty impressive — with particular focus on Scandinavian publications(of course). This is one of the few lounges giving away copies of the Economist. The place must be a bit understaffed during peak periods as they struggled to collect plates and glasses in time to cycle passengers through the various flights that morning. It’s a typical lounge and a decent enough place to wait for a flight — but certainly nothing special.
