Haircuts have never really gone that well for me because I have difficult hair, so when I decided I needed to get something done to my hair during vacation, I was pretty reluctant. I decided to try Rush Kensington because it was near my Airbnb, not too expensive or pretentious/trendy-looking but not suspiciously cheap and they had a good promotion for first-time customers. Going in I had no idea what would happen, but something needed to be done. Needless to say, I was so pleasantly surprised when I had one of the best salon experiences in my life! Robert was my stylist, and he was brilliant, knowing exactly how to treat my hair, and he had such an effervescent personality. He also loves Nigella Lawson which I just think is the most wonderful thing. I had a trim and my hair was dyed a shade darker to add some contrast to my coloring. My hair has never felt so smooth and soft, or looked that sleek! It was such a positive, fun, relaxing experience, and I’ve learned the hard way that it’s very challenging to find a stylist who knows precisely how to deal with frizzy, curly, dry hair. Looks like I’ll have to come back to London for all of my haircuts!

Great Scott! My fringe is uneven! And my normal hairdresser would probably believe if I told her I botched it up at home! See, here’s a secret… I can’t cut my own fringe. So, in the time between my haircuts, I need to get a fringe trim. Coz, trust a pro when you don’t trust yourself right? Well, evidently neither can RUSH be trusted to give me a good fringe. I thought it was odd at the time that she did these little feather light snips(both my hairdressers basically do it in 3 long snips) and kept asking me if I wanted to feather it. It didn’t look like it was as solid as normal, but welll… Potato, potaaaato. Turns out, in closer inspection at home she gouged out a section in the middle. Nope, I’ll stick to my normal salon thank you. If I can’t trust you with a poxy fiver and a 2 minute trim, don’t even think I’ll come back for an actual haircut.
