Great selection of beer, wine and appetizers. I recommande it to hangout with friends on Friday night. The place also offers cooking classes.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I had an usual Saturday night ! We went to the cookery school of Jamie Oliver based in Notting Hill: Recipease. We wanted to improve our cooking skills and especially our knowledge of how to make filled pasta. While we were waiting for the class to start we were offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco. We were all standing around a massive bar in the middle of the restaurant. The class started with 10 minutes of marketing campaigns for Jamie Oliver restaurants, shops and products! Needless to say this wasn’t really my cup of tea as I was here to spend a good time with my boyfriend, learn new skills and cook. I was not expecting to listen to a Jamie Oliver’s advertisement otherwise I would have stayed in, in front of my TV. After the long ten minutes of adverts, the class finally properly began and the chef explained how to make filled pasta. The first step was to make the pasta dough, then knead it and let it rest. While our dough was resting, we prepared our filling. The filling was pretty simple and cheap(frozen spinach and ricotta). The second step was to roll the dough by using a pasta machine. The third step was to shape and cut our pasta dough, fill and cook them. At the same time we were preparing our sauce which was butter and sage. What I really liked about this class was its concept. The chef showed us step by step the process and then we did the same thing between each step for our own pasta. What I didn’t like was the price, I thought the class was a bit pricey considering we cooked with very cheap and frozen ingredients. Also to make her plate of pasta the chef use the same amount of ingredients that was given to share between two people, and I think they could have be a bit more generous with their portions. It was surely the most expensive spinach and ricotta pasta plate I ever ate: £50, but it was homemade. Overall we are glad we did this class as we will be able to prepare our own filled pasta at home with our new pasta machine. However we will probably not go back again to Recipease as it was a bit overpriced for what it was.

Went here by a lucky chance on our way to the market — a very lucky chance. Being a tourist but not a fan of tourist traps I was suspicious but there’s no need for that. Jamie Oliver truly cares about his restaurants. I had The Works — full English breakfast. No bread, no beans was totally fine with the kitchen. No problem to go low carb here. They do their own twists on traditional dishes, and it works very very well. Coffee is good, too. Love this spot for the interior alone. In the middle there’s a kitchen for cooking classes which I am now very keen to take some time. You will sit by the window upstairs with a view of the street. Very nice. Very spacious, great atmosphere, friendly staff.

I had a disappointing veggie breakfast. The mushrooms were flavorless, the toast was cold, and the poached egg was hard as a rock, meaning that it didn’t ooze as intended into the spinach on top of which it was placed. Then they add a compulsory service charge that is not mentioned on the menu. How about serving decent food and then deciding whether it’s worth a bonus.

I came here for the Pizza and Prosecco class and it was a hit! The store/café/kitchen is a two-story building just outside of the Notting Hill Gate tube. The ground floor is the store and the upstairs is the café with the cooking class in the middle. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco and then gathered around and were given explanations of how the dough and sauce were made before going to our individual areas to commence stretching the dough for our individual pizzas. A part of me loved that they made the dough already, but as it was a class, I would have preferred doing it myself because it’s been awhile since I’ve made pizza and I was hoping for a full refresher. Nevertheless, the sauce was pretty good and I enjoyed their toppings, but instead of ricotta cheese, I was hoping they’d have goat cheese, especially given the fact that they had caramelized onions as a topping. Nevertheless, the class was short and sweet and this is the most inexpensive one(£20) so if you want to start off with an easy and affordable class, this is the one to do! Reserve in advance and if you see anything in their shop that catches your eye the day of your class, buy it because they offer a discount to those taking their classes. My friends recommended the knives skills class so I might go back again for that one, given how much I enjoyed this one. Best part? You get to enjoy your food their at the café after!

Popped in here to check it out as its Jamie Olivers place. Was immediately impressed with the smells and the eclectic mix of store/café/cooking school. There was a cooking class going on and it immediately made us want to eat in the café. We were given the perfect corner seat upstairs right on the window. Ambiance was great. We ordered the salads(4 salads on 1 plate) and the Bianca pizza. Unfortunately, neither dish excited us. Pizza crust was just ok and nothing really popped about the dish. The salads were very soggy and i didn’t find the 4 flavors to mix well.

Been here before for lunch, great, but this time came for a cooking lesson — South Indian Prawn Curry. On arrival you receive a glass of prosecco, stash your belongings in a locker, grab an apron and you’re ready to go. I thought the lesson was well delivered, friendly and fun. It’s two people to a bench and the group isn’t very big, I think maybe 12 – 14 pax? The space is great, and you get to sit down and chow down at the end as well as browse the shop(there’s a little 10% discount for participants). Actual lesson and cooking is prob about an 1.5hrs? £45 p/person, if you share a bench with a friend it’s £40 each. Little dare? But good experience.

We chose this place for a quick but wholesome breakfast because it’s conveniently located right next to Notting Hill Gate station and right on the corner you have to take if you want to stroll down Portobello Road afterwards. Recipease is a combo of shop, café and cooking school created by Jamie Oliver. On the ground floor you can browse kitchen utensils or buy baked goods. Upstairs you’ll find tables and a big open kitchen used for the cookery courses. We sat down at a table with a view on the street which is nice, even though the are is not particularly pretty to look at. The breakfast menu is somewhat meagre — we ordered homemade granola with yogurt and bread with jams. Simple but perfectly fine. Our coffees took longer to arrive than the food which was quite annoying but the staff was still friendly. I’d say Recipease isn’t a place you have to have been to but I’m sure the cooking classes they offer are fun.

Recipease is an interesting half-cooking class, half-restaurant place right outside of the Nottinghill tube stop(exit 3). The first floor is a space where you can take cooking lessons and also purchase pre-made goodies, from sumptuous-looking baked goods to boxed salads and sandwiches. The second floor also has a kitchen for private cooking lessons and a restaurant as well. I came on Tuesday at 12PM with a group of 8, and we headed up to the second floor for a sit-down lunch. Two friends and I split two thin-crust pizzas, the pizza bianco and the parma pizza. The first was topped with caramelized onions, which worked perfectly with the goat cheese/mozz/truffle oil blend. It was delicious. The second was more bland, with 5 – 6 thin slices of ham and handfuls of rocket(arugula) dressing the pizza. It wasn’t memorable. Other friends also split pizzas, and one friend ordered this fruity quinoa mix served with chicken kabobs, which seemed to be a typical(not hefty, not skimpy) portion for one person. All in all, well-portioned, but nothing memorable. Tl;dr — Cooking classes and café are greater attractions than the upstairs restaurant.

Stumbled on this place while in Notting Hill. We walk in and it’s like a mecca for people who love good food. There’s a cooking class going on and a 50% off on baked goods since it’s the end of the day. We buy a garlic focaccia and an almond/cherry tart to share, marvel at the cooking class, and leave. The focaccia was decent — if it was warm, it would’ve been much better. The tart was amazing though. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d love to try a cooking class and eat at the upstairs café.

Such a cool concept! Birds eye view of Notting Hill with floor to ceiling windows, oooking class space in the middle of the room with café tables surrounding the room. Both activities can go on simultaneously and the food and favors were incredible. Well done, Jamie Oliver! I’m a new fan.

I ate there at about 8, and there were still cooking classes that were going on. Which was fun to look at while waiting for our food, but also a little bit distracting and loud. The food was amazing, i had a cheeseburger, some nachos and a alcohol free moijito. Which was delicious.

At the beseech of my running companions I returned to this place to once again find myself aggravated by the terrible service and general lack of attentiveness. We’ve been sitting patiently for the excess of 20 minutes and our café menu order has still not arrived. Our starter took the first 20 minutes, bringing total wait time to 40 minutes – simple plate of tortilla chips and guacamole. One of our run friends arrived well after ordered and he received his plate first. Mr. Oliver accolades don’t supersede good and honest service, which this establishment clearly lacks.

I’ve been here twice now. Once for a bread making class and once for lunch. Both experiences were great. The bread making class was so much fipun and our instructor was knowledgeable and sweet. We needed up taking home a huge amount of delicious homemade breads when we left. I look forward to our next class here! The one downfall for lunch was that we had to wait a bit for a table and there didn’t seem to be an organized way to queue patrons for tables. It was a bit nerve wracking as we had two small babies with us and we’re anxious to sit down. I will definitely be going back for another class and to eat(without the baby)

I discovered this place by accident while I was walking towards the Portobello Road market in Notting Hill. It looked very nice and big from the outside, so I had to go inside to take a look. As you can see on the picture, there is a lot going on in there. The first floor is a restaurant/café with a big island in the middle. I tasted the most delicious smoothie with avocado, pear, banana, lime, ginger and honey, which I am surely going to make myself as it is very refreshing and tasty. The coffee is very good too and they serve breakfast, lunch or dinner with diverse and surprising menus. Jamie’s recipe books are displayed everywhere to look in while you’re seated. The place is very inspiring and made me want to cook all his recipes straight away with the delicious ingredients from the shop on the ground floor. It is impossible to walk by the shop without taking a few minutes gasping at all the quality ingredients and beautiful cooking utensils, which is quite frustrating as you obviously can’t buy it all. The bread, sandwiches and pastries are way too tempting and nicely presented with cute ribbons and napkins. Apparently, they also offer cooking lessons and then sell all the ingredients you need at home in the shop. However, it is a shame that the staff wasn’t very helpful and friendly and didn’t really know what they were doing. I came there on a Saturday before lunch and was lucky to find a spot to sit down but there was a line standing on the stairs a few minutes later. I would therefor recommend to come early or to avoid the weekends.

Wandered into Recipease by chance. the concept is way cool. The space is very nice. lots of room. They actually have live cooking lessons. I decided to have the Guacamole as a light lunch. it was really good. the green tea lemonade really hit the spot. Will definitely recommend and definitely will go back to try a more complete meal. But what i had was really good.

Recipease is a very cute place and I love the concept! The upstairs café is very spacious with lots of comfortable places to sit. I went there for lunch and didn’t have any problem getting a table for two. I had the carrot pancake which was much bigger than I imagined but was very tasty! I definitely want to go back to one of the cooking classes– or just with my laptop for a coffee and to lounge on one of the couches. All the takeaway food downstairs also looked great.

Excellent Meal! Pure and simple. What a fun place. There is a teaching kitchen in the center of the restaurant which adds to the excitement and vibe of the place. My wife and I started with the olives and flatbread appys. The flatbread was airy and tasty with garlic and fresh rosemary. For dinner, I had the curry chicken which was prepared really well. The sauce was creamy and flavorful but not too heavy and the rice was cooked al dente to perfection. My wife ordered the best part of the meal, hands down. I highly recommend it. She ordered the lamb wrap which was packed with ingredients and bursts of amazing flavor. Imagine this. A tortilla on the base, hummus spread on top, well seasoned slow cooked lamb with mint yoghurt, thinly sliced red chilis, sautéed garlic mushrooms, pomegranate seeds, pickled onions, arugula, toasted pine nuts and sure I’m missing a few more ingredients and believe me, they work so well together. Quite superb. Great place, great service, great Notting Hill gem.

Gehen in Ordnung.

Great place to just sit on the second floor and people watch. Had the lamp wrap today. Full of flavor but not too big for one person. Located on the corner of Pembridge Rd and Bayswater Rd, this is in the middle of Nottinghill. If you want to learn to be better in your own kitchen or just want to come for a drink and food, this is the place. I’ve been here 4 times now and it’s always just as pleasing! The menu changes often but the quality is always spot on.
