Great healthy food, with no grease. Staff are extremely obliging and happy. The restaurant and delivery are great. Definitely would recommend. Baby friendly as I have 1 ½ year old.

We’ve been ordering from poppy hana for the last 3 years or so, never been to the restaurant itself. The food is yummy, and they’re very sweet about customising your order or sending extra stuff(like ginger and wasabi). It’s not too heavy on the pocket, too. My issue is with the mayonnaise, which ALL the rolls seem to have. :(not a huge fan.

ordered a take away from here — the food was cold when it eventually arrived. The food that was delivered did not even vaguely resemble the order that we had placed — and when we called to rectify the situation — the staff were not even a little concerned. Play it safe and just stay away

Loved this place. The food is terrific & such good value! A fraction of the costof a meal at Wagamama & just as delicious. With 125 dishes this is quite a feat. The service was fast friendly & efficient. I had a spicy salmon udon a huge bowlof delicious soup. They do phone deals& free delivery on orders over £15.00 within a 3 mile radius.

I remember when Poppy Hana opened a couple of years ago, I was really happy to have some local Japanese food. But it’s taken me a couple of years to finally go in and try it — mostly because the lure of the fish and chips shop a couple of doors down always wins out. However, we finally tried it out last month. I wanted so much to love it — not least because they do delivery! But it was not meant to be… we had the chicken katsu don, some miso soup, plain rice, takoyami(octopus balls), agedashi tofu and chicken karaage. The best dish for me was the agedashi tofu and the chicken karaage was also nice. Overall, the food is nice enough and it’s fairly reasonably priced, I just didn’t «love» it. If I want a fix of Japanese food, I think I will be heading into town still. The nice thing about Poppy Hana is that they recently reduced the size of the restaurant and opened a clothing store, which is joined to the restaurant. If you’re a shopaholic(like me) then you can browse the shop whilst waiting for your meal. It’s quite a cool experience! I would pop back to the clothing shop to peruse the Japanese fashions, and possibly if I needed a ramen fix.

The service here is very good, the food is fine and it’s not expensive, what’s not to like? Their chicken katsu curry(£6.95) is very tasty, the chicken yakitore(£2.95) is good. Their freshly squeezed apple and pear juice is also fruit-tastic. It’s very clean and nicely decorated and for this stretch of road in this part of London, it is awesome. Poppyhana is very close to Bermondsey tube so it’s easy to escape. Jamaica Road when you are done.

Yay for Poppy Hana! The sushi is fresh and pretty good. My boyfriend and I like to order it to take away, then wander down to the Thames and eat it while watching the sun go down over the city. Thinking about the salmon, hottate and hamachi is making me drool. I love sushi so much that I have not tried many of the more ‘fusion’ type things on the menu, however the kaki fry and the kani cream croquette both made me happy! The strange ‘devilled’ dishes on the menu intrigue me, but I didn’t try them yet, so I will have to leave that to other Unilocalers… On particularly lazy days we have also been known to order the take-out and have it delivered *blushes.* This is a good idea BUT I would avoid things that need to be eaten piping hot. Nasu dengaku and agedashi-dofu don’t taste as good once they have cooled down on the delivery route. They lost a star because the staff didn’t know the names of fish in Japanese. They made me choose sushi by giving them numbers. I might be a snob, but I prefer to order by names(unagi, hottate and amaebi rather than 9, 12, 19).

Poppy Hana is a 5 minute walk away from me, they have satisfying main dishes on their menu and deliver to my home when I am feeling too lazy to walk to them. They are reasonably priced, and I am a loyal customer.

Lovely fresh juices(I had the apple) I had the chicken katsu curry which was ok, the vegetables were really tasty and well cooked in it. The miso soup was also yummy, my brothers supreme sushi dish thing looked good too!

I’ve been here on quite a number of occasions and it doesn’t seem to fail me. I have to admit, i haven’t tried much of the menu, only the bento box and the chicken katsu curry(sorry!), but it always consistently good. It’s very easy to get to aswell, just on the right when you walk outside bermondsey tube station. Only reason I gave it a 4 star was that it was abit pricey.
