A little bit disappointing actually. Had to wait for a while despite there being enough free tables, then after mentioning that my anchovy pizza only had three anchovies, I was promised I would get a replacement but it never arrived. Later on, the waitress just seemed confused about taking our dessert order — like, as if she had never had that interaction before. Desserts were also clearly from the fridge, with the cannoletto being almost stale. The pizza? Well, I prefer a crispier crust and this was a bit more flexible and rubberey. Oh well.

I’ve been here a few times and I’m sure I’ll be back but I have to be honest, it’s a pretty average experience. The last couple of visits I’ve noticed one thing or another has been way off. Take for example my Margarita pizza which is detailed on the menu as including tomato, Garlic, Oregano, BASIL and evoo. As you can see there was only one lonely basil leaf sitting on the middle of the pie. At least the wine(Montepulciano) was good. Another time I dined alone when the place is absolutely empty and they insisted that I took the most uncomfortable seat by the door. Not sure what it is about the place but it can be really noisy(kitchen staff take note: not all Italians sound like Pavarotti when you sing), it can be slightly unfriendly and although there are usually more wait staff than necessary on the very small floor you can feel rather ignored and like an inconvenience. I do however like the dough better at PP and it’s a less annoying atmosphere than Franco Manca in Brixton Village though — seriously who queues for pizza in 2016?

This place is fantastic. These guys only do pizzas but they do them incredibly well with the help of their wood fire oven. The staff are really friendly — very chatty even though it is really busy.
