As always great food. Friendly service. Forgot our drinks and took AGES to bring the bill but they were pretty busy. Superfood salad amazing with tuna added on.

This branch of Pizza Express is a good one. I chose to eat here with a group of friends, making sure I booked ahead as it was Saturday night. Dining space takes place on the Ground and first floor, and when some additional friends decided to join us at the last minute they were able to accommodate all of us with ease. The food was tasty and the atmosphere relaxed. A restaurant I would be happy to return to.

I stop here to eat with some friends a few days ago while in London. Food was good and customer service was par. The atmosphere was a little died considering it was last Friday, the opening night for 2012 Olympics. Oddest thing was they had a screen and projector in the restaurant but they choose to play old Tom and Jerry cartoons instead of the Opening Ceremony! #FAIL

i love a good pizza express(hello dough balls and that new rosemary flatbread… YUM!) but this location failed. it started off okay. we ordered the three course meal to split and a rosemary flatbread also. the doughballs and flatbread come, then the pizza, and all seemed fine until nobody comes back to ask if we needed water, the check, or if we were ready to order the desserts that were included in our meal for nearly an hour! every waiter we tried to call over ignored us and our original one disappeared and never came back… it was very annoying and we ended up taking our dessert(the smallest piece of cake i’ve seen in my life) to go, so we could just get out of there and see the sunlight.

Balls please, lots of balls, dough balls! If you have never been to Pizza Express I would definitely recommend them. It was a rare occasion in London that day! Yes the sun was shining! 6 of us had gathered to eat in Angel, and decided to head to Pizza Express as their windows fully open which we thought would be great. We got seated downstairs on a circular table(the restaurant also has an upstairs) and ordered our drinks. It was so hot due to the ovens and the heat outside didn’t help. The food took a while and then finally arrived. I ordered the Bosco salad. A few of my friends ordered the chicken pesto, but it was apparently cold so sent it back, it then came back hot. As it was my friends birthday we told the waiter to bring out a piece of cake with a candle, and they sang happy birthday. This Pizza Express is like all the rest really, decent food with fresh vegetables. The atmosphere is very lively, but if you are going here on a sunny day, be warned that it gets really hot inside.

Let me qualify this review with the fact that I’ve spent the better part of the last two years trying to taste the best pizzas in New York City. I had my first taste of Pizza Express at this location earlier tonight. The staff was a bit slow to seat myself and the one friend I came with, but we didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes. We both ordered the Etna, which comes with hot soft sausage, roquito peppers and speck ham. The crust could have done with some more flavour, but the bigger problem was its thickness — I think it was literally thinner than a tortilla in parts. Besides that, the sauce didn’t have much flavour to it, and the soft sausage tasted as if it had been soaked in hot sauce. That’s not to say it was bad, just not the best I’ve had. As expected, this chain can’t live up to the legendary pizzas of New York City.
