Great food, good for families with high-chairs etc. Tasty deserts and good coffee. Great alternative Sunday lunch! Would go again :)

Came here for jazz night and it was really fun. Great music, food, and company! Get there early to snap up a good seat.

Pizza Express is, in my humble opinion, one of the better mass chains in the UK. And this particular Pizza Express venue is, again in my humble opinion, one of the best due to the great location and al fresco dining area at the front. On a recent balmy evening, I could close my eyes and imagine myself to be in an Italian piazza as I sipped at a lovely glass of Montepulciano to wash down a delicious Calabrese pizza(the hottest, most expensive and very best pizza on the menu — once again, in my humble… you get the idea). In addition, the service was particularly great in this branch. So Pizza Express is never going to get you kudos the same way visiting a street food vendor in Dalston might — but if you’re looking for a charming, romantic location where you don’t have to queue for hours and fight for a seat and ultimately don’t have to dent your wallet too heavily, then this little Chelsea gem is well worth a visit.

Hadn’t ever been to this PE location. We were having a Sunday wander along the King’s Road and thought it seemed as good an option as any for an easy dinner. Service was great. Food was so-so. I tried the new«speciale» dough balls with cheese and they were ok, but I think I still prefer the regular variety. I’ve had better meals from other PE locations. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. But the service was particularly good, even as we had 2 servers through a shift change. :)

I love this location! Went here last night, and had dough balls with garlic butter to start, then had the Da Morire Romana pizza afterwards. Also split a bottle of white wine with my friend. Delicious! Excellent service, friendly and attentive waiters. Trendy venue. I’ve heard it’s the original Pizza Express, though not sure if that’s true.

Cool historic location, but in the end, it is still Pizza Express. up to you to say if that is good or bad…

So, the wait staff were very nice, the patio is really lovely and the service was good, definitely didn’t experience any of the rudeness other reviews mention. But, this restaurant has totally blown my idea that Pizza Express is a pretty solid chain-restaurant choice with consistent pizzas. My Fiorentina pizza was so undercooked in the dough department it was slimy and disgusting. Yet somehow the egg on top was cooked for so long the yolk was so solid it crumbled when I cut it! So disappointing. Also, my Caesar side salad came with 2 tiny anchovies! Just 2! Rubbish!

Extremely rude waitstaff. Made we wait a very long time for a table, and then were indignant when I asked what was taking so long(tables appeared to be available). Really, don’t bother. It’s a mediocre chain, anyway.

You’d be forgiven for thinking you had accidentally just stumbled into children’s party when you walk in. Screaming kids running around, yummy mummies, and the array of BMW level buggies ‘parked’ all over the restaurant. It is frankly a bit annoying. The two level restaurant serves a good selection on pizza’s that when good, are enjoyable. The problem is that it is a bit hit or miss as to whether you will get a soggy, mushy pizza or one that is crispy and tasty. The service staff are indifferent, probably just trying to function through the noise and maneuver around all the kids and buggies. Its a shame that with such a prime location on the King’s Road, and with a lack of pizza places, that this eatery isn’t more satisfactory. Instead it is more a spot to eat at by default and only because there isn’t something better near by.

Not so good — I had the margarita pizza, which seemed under cooked and nary a crispy crust in bite. Very sad. Pluses: located in a historic building with a decent patio. Wouldn’t recommend.

I haven’t found any other pizza places in the immediate vicinity, so for that reason alone, Pizza Express deserves a free pass(barely). However, truth be told, the pizza here is not very good. The taste sits somewhere on the scale between a passable slice and an old pizza box. If you’re absolutely craving cheese/sauce/dough and/or have stumbled out of the Chelsea Potter after a few drinks, this place will do. Otherwise, you should probably avoid it.

Just back to our hotel from Pizza Express Kings Road — service appalling! TOTALLYUNINTERESTEDINTHEIRCUSTOMERS&THEIREXPERIENCE. Not once asked if we were enjoying our meal, if we needed anything. Staff were putting chairs up & clattering about in the kitchen in complete disregard of customers who were still finishing their meals — extremely disappointed, not a patch on the quality of service we get in our local Edinburgh Pizza Express.

Typical Pizza Express food in a great location, both for the street(King’s Road) and the setting in itself, a beautiful building with lots of outside space. Also, I have found this Pizza Express to have better service than others I have been in. A great budget option for a meal out on a shopping day, especially with the vouchers around and the Tastelondon 50% off food offer on all days except Fri and Sat night.

I fail to see a single good reason why someone should eat at pizza express unless, as happened to me yesterday, they are cold, on a late bank holiday night, have just discovered that their favorite pizza place in London further down King’s road is closed and, most of all, they’ve never been to any other pizza express restaurant before. I give two stars to the place because of this: it was open. Everything else was pretty much appalling(for an italian, at least): starting from the electric ovens — where small pizzas made with a spongy and rubbery dough, a dark, low quality tomato sauce and the worst mozzarella I’ve eaten in years are cooked(too much) in metal pans(sigh) — and ending with the horrific ambience, made dull and depressing by the low lights, the marble tables with no table cloths(and chippings everywhere) and the paper napkins. The pizza is, simply said, the worst I remember having in a public place. Even Pizza Hut(god forbid) is better than this. I don’t know English well enough to choose the right adjectives but I hope that my dissatisfaction emerges clear enough by what I’m able to write. Frankly: apart from the fact that it’s not«italian» in any possible way(I’m not that interested in authenticity, when creativity can compensate), it’s simply something that no one that vaguely loves pizza can find enjoyable. The rest of the servings I’ve had the pleasure trying at the place were a «risotto con porcini» where the rice grains were flabby and mealy(and served with ROCKET aside…), and a dreadful merlot that seemed mixed with water. In addition to this, they managed to get the wrong pizza prepared for me. What else could I add to comment this disaster? If it’s true that«if you’ve been to one PE you’ve been to them all» I’d recommend avoiding them all.

Very standard chain, but the pizza is actually delicious. They are pretty much everywhere, and a great go-to if you aren’t feeling creative.

Massive place in a great setting but otherwise, quite ordinary. Pizza Express can’t be beaten for pizza — and the prices don’t reflect that it’s on the King’s Road luckily. Standard menu, standard prices. Always go for the Romana base — much better!

If you have been to one Pizza Express you have been to them all.. . However, this one is nice in that the building is cool and there is outdoor seating. They have nice heat lamps outdoors which is a must for outdoor seating in London.. . If you haven’t been to a Pizza Express, it is not going to disappoint you, but it is also not going to wow you. The food is always ok, always consistent. In the summer they usually have a selection of ice creams that are available from the street. Which is a nice touch for all the Kings Road shoppers.

I got a sweet little story for this particular Pizza Express at Kings Road… …It was late afternoon and it was cold, we were looking for a place to warm up and regain energy. Pizza Express is never a let down, we decided to rest there. My favourite snack are the warm dough balls which come with garlic butter, watch your breath! When the dessert arrived, I was in for a surprise, all over the plate there was written ‘Bella princessa’. The chef had his laugh I guess, sweetening up his day. For sure I appreciated his guesture, what honor — what a flirt! I tell you the Italians are charmers …this must be hard work to deliver every lady visiting his Pizza Express an extra love message in form of a chocolate decoration. I am sure he keeps himself busy.

Better than your average Pizza Express because of the enormous venue alone(apparently Eric Clapton once lived there) it’s always packed with Sloane Rangers(you can avoid the more annoying ones by sticking to the ground floor). Standard Pizza Express menu with unremarkable service, it’s a good budget option in an otherwise pricey neighbourhood.
