This is a warm, inviting family owned Italian restaurant. We walked in on a cold, rainy night and could smell the wood fired oven cooking the pizzas. The rocket and cherry tomatoes salad was lightly dresses with tasty little cherry tomatoes and ribbons of Parmesan. The montalcino red wine was a decent pour and fairly priced. The bruschetta was heaped with lovely and tasty tomatoes. A win overall.

Excellent little restaurant. I recommend the steak with rocket salad and the fresh pasta with Italian sausage. Decent wine list. Staff friendly. Prices reasonable. Gratuity added to bill but no problem paying it. Recommended!

There were 3 of us that went to this restaurant. Each of us ordered something different. I ordered the Italian pizza which I didn’t really enjoy. The ham used wasn’t very good and the dough was a bit more overcooked than I would have preferred. Someone in our table ordered a calzone which was much tastier and wasn’t burn as my pizza was. the third dish was lasagne which was tasty but I thought it seemed like a small portion. The décor/atmosphere of the place isn’t anything special but the prices I think are reasonable. The service was in in general good.

Best pizza in the south ken area. Underrated. Staff can be a little nicer but a good place to grab a nice pizza.

I was surprised not to find Pappa Roma on the Unilocal app(I’m doing my best to remember to check in whereever I go, I really do) and now there’s only one review posted by the restaurant’s owners — what’s going on?! According to my friend this is a traditional, family run Italian restaurant that has been here for ages. A bit off the beaten track, we found Pappa Roma to be fairly deserted when we arrived for a late lunch after a cultural morning spent at the V&A. While not exactly cheap, Pappa Roma offers good value for money judged by the size of its pizzas and the number of calories you can eat in one sitting — a real cheese feast, I’ll be skipping dinner and probably several more meals … We treated ourselves to a glass of red wine, and both the house wine and the Merlot were very nice indeed. Another plus worth mentioning is the delivery of sharp knives upon ordering a pizza — I hate nothing more than the usual blunt experience.
