Ottoman has much to offer: a free onion starter that is surprisingly delicious(even though I don’t like onions), crunchy fresh vegetables, juicy chunks of meat and some of the best dessert I’ve ever had(and I’ve had a lot of dessert in my time!) The restaurant seating is quite cramped but the atmosphere is boisterous and hospitable; the type of restaurant that is filled with the aroma of good food, the noise of enjoyment and content and the sight of smiles and well presented dishes all round.

I love this place! Ottoman is a hidden gem. It hits the spot when you’re looking for something meaty, hot, and delicious. I’ve only ordered the lamb shawarma here because it’s so good I’m scared to try anything else in the event that it’s not as good as the lamb shawarma. Yes, it’s that good! The front of the shop is takeaway but there is seating inside(which actually looks pretty nice.) Lunchtime can get kind of crowded so don’t be surprised if there’s a wait but it’s definitely worth it!

The place has the proper Greek-Ottoman cuisine. It is a nice place for a dinner and the dishes are tasty. Try the coffee and the delights after the main dish. They will enhance your experience.

You know, a good takeaway is a bit like a good local pub. They should know your face, your usual order, but also the fact that you might sometimes want something different. What they should never do though is take you for granted. 25 minutes waiting, only to be ignored when you ask how the order is doing and then, after a minute or two outside trying to explain why your dinner is taking forever to your waiting partner, being treated like a tit by the the counter staff, who then proceed to miss one of only three things on your order, is not par for the course. Treat every customer the same, because one poor review cancels out a hundred good ones, especially if the bad one is one that’s broadcast

‘Ottoman’ is a Turkish ocakbasi on Fulham Palace Road. It is the best thing to happen to the area in a long time. On my first visit I opted for their Chicken Shish. Unlike most Turkish«Mangals» these guys offer smaller sized versions of SOME of their kebabs, which is a handy option if you don’t want such a big portion or want to spend slightly less. At £4.40 the small chicken cubes were not cheap compared to some but the quality was excellent. The small Lamb Kofte on my second visit seemed good value at £3.90 considering it was up there with the best I had ever tasted. All the meats done on the open charcoal grill have that lovely smoky flavour and the experienced staff at this restaurant know just how to cook them. The service is solid. The guys are friendly, fast & attentive — especially considering how busy it usually is. The chilli & garlic sauces are both good. The salad is fine albeit simplistic compared to my all time favourite ocakbasis, the ‘Best Mangal’ mini chain. The Tortilla Mexican style bread wrap is OK. ‘Ottoman’ is a real winner. They have some nice little touches such as the aforementioned smaller sizes and some nice mixes so punters can try a few different types of meat in one kebab. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

The best god damm kebab in London. The shish is defiantly worth the wait but for something on the run the doner is just as good.

Ottoman is on my way home from work, and it’s a rare week I don’t pick up a kebab from here on my way home at least once. I recommend the lamb shish, but I’d also point out that the doner is a lot better then you usually get and shows every sign of being made of real meat — it’s the only doner I’d ever order sober. There’s a sit down restaurant inside too which is often busy, but I’ve never sat in. People seem happy on their way out past me, if that’s any recommendation. The staff are friendly even when they’re busy(which they will be when Fulham are playing). Been in London about 7 years now and it’s the best kebab place I’ve found. — So now I’ve sat in: I took some Japanese work colleagues there and we had a grand time and left belly-full and happy. I recommend it!

Excellent smoky kebabs. I missed Fez Mangal from Ladbroke Grove, till I discovered Ottoman. Very generous portions and very reasonable. Average service.

Two words: lamb shish… I would eat a kabob from Ottoman for breakfast, lunch, and dinner once a week if I lived close enough. It just doesn’t get any better in London if you’re looking for a kabob. It’s a bit fancier than your average London kabob joint, so if you want you can actually sit down and enjoy yourself, but I’ve always just gotten things to go.

These guys do a fantastic sheesh kebab, that’s for sure. Ottoman’s is typical of some of my favourite kebab places in the area. It has a casual restaurant in the back and does take away food in the front. They cook the food over a BBQ style pit. I’ve only tasted the chicken sheesh, but the other meat looks great too. One thing that irked me about this place a little was the guys behind the till. They were pleasent enough, but slow. Also one guy took the kebab that his colleague had put on for me, to go with a different order(who were sitting down in the restaurant). This resulting in me waiting longer. It was only a couple of minutes, but this kind of thing really p****s me off. If you are at the top end of Fulham Palace Road(Hammersmith end near the hospital) and you fancy some nice meat then try this place. You can grab a take away kebab or even sit in the back and have a casual meal(for a reasonable price).

Stopped here by chance on the way home from Heathrow and have been a regular ever since. The lamb schwarmas are a delight — juicy well marinated meat — and so is the service. Great for the meat lovers amongst us
