Great pub/restaurant. I got the fish pie she got the special. Everything was great, service was top notch and fun. Will be back next time.

this was one of our most favorite places in London. Going into this Pub Texas Back In Time. The décor was elaborate and the staff worst super friendly! The food especially the pork belly was delicious! The drinks were divine. We would love to have one of these in Houston, Texas, United States. Actually, we loved it so much we sent pictures home to investors hoping that we will be opening one of these in Houston. It would be a great it!

We tried to come in on a Thursday at 11pm and they stopped me from opening the door and waved their hands no at me. Sign says they’re open until 1am. Not sure what the deal is but recommend actually speaking to potential customers with an explanation vs rude hand signals.

Completely barmy fun on a sunny weekend afternoon! Our double date foursome tumbled in after a boozy brunch down the road, having been distracted by the eccentric chap in a top hat strutting past the doorway. It was like stepping back in time as he and the barmen were all dressed in vintage Victorian-style outfits and were fully in character to match — so hilarity ensued as we of course played along when ordering our drinks(‘make mine a double old chap!’ etc… hmm maybe you had to be there). It’s in a great spot to catch passers-by like us and we managed to nab a high table and stools, otherwise the bar space is quite tight. The drinks are pricey but our cocktails were delicious, and the bonkers décor gives you plenty to look at! It’s based on the travels of adventurer Phileas Fogg but could double as the props department for any 19th century based film with everything from ornate chandeliers to stuffed birds to an old baby’s pram hanging from the ceiling! I didn’t know whether to people-watch outside or just gaze upwards in wonder, but it was fun to try somewhere a little-off-the-wall and it suited the current mood of the group well :)

So I’d heard a lot about this place and overall I thought it was pretty cool! The décor was great, and I liked how the beer and ale was poured from actual barrels! Also the staff were dressed in costume — as if they were actually working in a tavern back in the day. I had a pretty tasty gin cocktail however alas I cannot remember the name! I did think that whilst in there, there was always something different to look at on the walls or on the ceiling.

Great food. Great cocktails. Great space(look up, way up!). Quirky, but not in that put-on«ugh, different for the sake of being different» way. Wacky ephemera hanging from the ceiling. Long waxed moustaches on the men behind the bar. Nice brassy taps and several pages of fancy cocktails. I started with a negroni that was anything but standard(in fact, almost every«classic» ingredient had been swapped out) but I encourage even more experimenting with egg whites and blackberry preserves and candied citrus peels and and and. Plenty of staff on hand to direct drinkers to their perfect-fit drinks. Nice bathrooms. Only con — not deserving of a star deduction, just pointing out — it’s wee. A teeny tiny corner of a space. So, I mean, don’t go with the expectation of hula hooping around the tables or something. NOROOM!

I love this place! Is just cross the road from my work place! Prices are good and the quality is good too! 5£ for an italian wine(very italian wine) is amazing! Wine and beer are not measured as usual. They come as glasses… so you can have one real big glass of wite italian wine for just 5£ S-u-p-e-r! Decoration and music are very nice. The staff is friendly(well is composed 50% of Italian and 50%of Spanish) ahaha Decos are made with wood, strange dead animals and some objects. Ah you will find them on the ceiling haha If you go near christmast time it will look like being in a Christmas Carrol but if you go now, in one second, you will be back in 1850 in a hart beat I would like to try also their food! For now i suggest you to grab a pint here and to breath some 1800′ air!

Very cool. I like the atmosphere, the music and the service! I’ve ordered an old fashion which made with Scotch. It’s was good but not strong enough in my opinion, otherwise I’d give 5 stars

I could have sworn this was just a regular pub the last time I checked and probably would have walked right past if it wasn’t for an invitation to an event in the first floor bar. What a treat for the senses! You instantly forget all about time and space as you are transported into a world of adventure and discovery. In our case that of discovering some lovely gin cocktails … but this could easily have been the tavern that Phileas Fogg returned to from his travels, all lavish Victoriana and exotic souvenirs. It could go on and on, this is definitely one of the most beautifully decorated bars I have been to in London, everything is in keeping, gorgeous wood staircase all the way down to the sumpteous restrooms, drinks served in crystal glasses your grandma would keep for Sunday best, the menus, and staff seem to feel perfectly natural in their vintage outfits. Take this as high praise indeed from someone who’s generally not a fan of theme bars, this one just works and I am seriously tempted to book Aunt Gertrude’s Salon(yes, I know, but even the silly name just works) for my birthday next month, or even go on a gin safari — or both? I haven’t tried any of their proper food, just some pigs ears(like the joke but not the taste) and some roasties with gravy(greasy but good), but would imagine it all to be comfortably old-fashioned. Writing this the morning after, luckily the prices prevent you from going too silly(all cocktails are around the £10 mark) …

Took a while to be seated after having a reservation, but after grabbing a beer we settled for stools near entrance with good light. Good for photos I thought and watching life go by on a sunny day. This week was national pie week and Foggs had a fantastic promotion of £1 pies(with mash and greens). After forgetting my order, 15 mins later my pie of fish came out and made up with it. Outstanding little pie. Salmon and another fish I couldn’t quite make out(should have asked). With fluffy potato on top. Perfect pie and I love good fish so winner all round. Just needed to be more organised but staff are very cheerful and smiley so it’s all good they kept fun vibe going. Foggs new tavern is defo one to check out with bags of personality and much prefer it to their other more formal branch.

I came here yesterday with Livi S to celebrate British Pie Week. I loved it! To celebrate British Pie Week Mr Fogg’s Tavern were doing a promotion of selling the pie of the day for £1. That’s right £1! We arrived at 12pm for lunch and there was already a queue forming outside. We were greeted on entering with a guy dressed in Victorian clothes in character celebrating the fact the the pies were only £1. The pie of the day turned out to be several options. I went for the beef pie and Livi went for the fish pie. Both came with greens and mash potato, and a pewter jug of gravy. My pie was really tasty. I liked the cheese topping on the crust. The interior of Mr Fogg’s Tavern is amazing! It is like stepping back in time to the Victorian era. It’s themed around Phileas Fogg from ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. With the staff remaining in character, its almost like a theatre restaurant. It was great fun! Even at the full price menu, the prices are resonable, and I would certainly come back!

Who stepped back in time for lunch? ME who had a yummy fish pie worth calling their ostracised uncle about who happens to live in the Amazon? ME and who was served beer in the early afternoon but a scullery maid? MEMEMEEEEE! so we’ve all gathered at this point that this place is all about themes! A Victorian theme to be precise! Everyone is in costume which really enhances the experience! They were all so nice to us when my sister and I came for lunch the other day! Great customer service guaranteed … Their food and drink(what I had) which happened to be a fish pie with greens(kale) and a cold beer(can’t remember the name) was reallllllllllly nice! It was such a hearty meal I had to slap my fist on the table afterwards for good measure! Also to show that I enjoyed the meal! … That is how they did it back then right? Anyhoo I am a fan and will return soon! Very bloody soon *slaps fist onto table*

I’ve always dreamed of going to a ‘real’ tavern. The pirate kind of tavern, without the filthy pirates. I was served! Mr Fogg’s Tavern is on the corner of New Row and it has got everything. The waiters are dressed old style(thumbs up for that lady working in a long petticoat and corset), the walls are covered in wood panels, from the ceiling hang boats, cages, and a profusion of artefacts, objects and colourful fabrics, and in the back, a chimney covered in old books and objects I could not possibly identify in the 21st century. Our waiter was lovely and available. He took good care of us and proved himself very useful. We ordered the croquettes to share for a starter on his advice and it was a good call. Our mains were the beef pie, the fish pie and the cured salmon salad. The beef and smoked bacon pie is served with mash and buttered greens(it was kale) and gravy on the side. I was delicious yet a bit salty(I blame the smoked bacon). The fish pie was served not with a regular pie crust but topped with potatoes slices and carrots and buttered greens on the side. My mother found it delicious too. Finally, the salmon salad is served with small eggs but it’s mainly salad though my brother said the salmon was great and found the dish good enough. I noted that most starters look really pleasant(shout out to the smoked sausages). It could actually constitute a kind of mezze meal with assorted starters. Will try. I noticed on Unilocal the pub seems to attract more people for its cocktails, and they do look appealing so I might come back to give it a go. They did have quite a large menu for drinks. They also offer a cocktail of the day or so. We had a good time and I loved our surroundings. Little side note: the toilets are pretty and funny for they talk and actually had an argument while I was here(due to speakers, not sorcery). Second side note: they work with the app Cake London. It’s a paying app that allows you, among other things, to share your bill more effectively if you need to, the waiter explained. And if you use it to pay(it works like über, with your credit card), you can get à £5 discount on the bill for each person using it.

Stopped in because my husband’s last name is Fogg! Pleasantly surprised by the unique Victorian-era décor and eclectic antique-oriented atmosphere. Beer was delicious and the service was excellent: fast, fun, and friendly. They even let us take a menu with his last name and were amused by us dorking out after the surname everywhere. Very old world 19th century vibe with charming waitresses and solid bartender service. We didn’t eat there but definitely will on the next visit. Cool little spot.

Quirky décor and very British with a great variety of gins. Cocktails were a little pricey at £10 but it is London and they were delicious and different. This place oozes character and the staff are dressed like they stepped out of the Victorian age. Very different and a refreshing change from chain pubs.

Wood-panelled, old-style tavern themed around explorer Phileus Fogg. This place has it all; hot bar staff, a great selection of cocktails and an overwhelming choice of gins, quirky décor and good food(or so I’m told). A small group of us came here after the LDN Walks Sweet Tooth tour, as it was recommended to us by our lovely tour guide, who also accompanied us here for drinks. The staff were friendly and accommodating and easy on the eye — not to mention flirty, which was very fun! I tried a Giddy Gertrude. Fanny’s Virility Tonic and a Fanny in Mead. The bartender took great pleasure in me giggling any time I ordered a drink with ‘Fanny’ in the title. I’m childish, and had to have a great deal of Giddy Gertrude before I was able to order anything with ‘Fanny’ in the title without turning bright red. Our tour guide ordered a mutton sandwich, which smelled and looked amazing. There were also tables around us ordering bowls of mussels. It was really busy in here, but despite this the staff remained friendly and relaxed. They were all dressed in Victorian attire, and the bar was decked out accordingly, with items such as an old stroller hanging from the ceiling, and a stuffed peacock pride of place above the door way. The drinks are expensive, but considering the quality and the interesting surrounds, not to mention the variety of drinks available, they are more than worth it and I would gladly come here again.

This location is very small, however it is possible to get a seat if you wait for a bit. I would not say it is ideal for conversation, it is quite loud and crowded. Nonetheless, the décor is quite unique, the cocktails are very good and the waiters have very nice uniforms(i.e. old fashioned dresses). If it is not too crowded, I would definitely recommend stopping in for a bit.
