Fernando’s

My work place is just crossed the road from fernando’s but i have only been there once.
Why? Because i am stupid!
Last week i finished everything i had at home and i hadn’t brought with me my lunch.
Tommaso (my colleague) suggested me to go to Fernando’s as he was really used to go there, such as 99% of our other colleagues.
Well we crossed the road and we entered in this small tiny world!
Huge sandwiches where served, enormous salads prepared and oversize potatos buttered.
It was a sort of street food wonderlad!
I took a jacked potato (i hope jacked is the right way to call it… i am still learning all the food words) with tuna, salad and corn! WOW!
It was supertasty and huge. i didn’t even finished it as it was enormous!
My colleague took a salad with rice, a sort of chicken kebab and something else… his package couldn’t even close!
Prices are right for the quality you have (that is quie high) and for the quantity they serve…
I paid my potato 4£ and i don’t remember how many cents.

I love Fernando’s! Affordable homemade food, HUGE HUGE HUGE portions, always friendly and fast. Queues every lunch show how great it is! It’s rare to find somewhere like this in the heart of London.
Nothing glamorous or pretentious about Fernando’s, it’s definitely more caf’ than café, but definitely on the much better quality side of caf’ food. Try it out!

It’s doesn’t look like much from the out by God do the give you good food and a good deal in the centre of london!
My choice is the Jacket Potato with Pesto chicken and cheese for £5 and they do not go skimpy on the portion size! I’d rather get a huge hit yummy meal from here for £5 then a toastie from the chains for the same price.

Without a doubt this is one of the best cafes in London. Both take away and eat in food available.
The food is tasty, freshly cooked, very cheap, comes in large amounts. You can’t ask for anything more really!
There are a few tables but at lunch time you won’t have much hope of getting one. Don’t be put off by the long queue that usually stretches right out of the door, as the service is fast.
I used to work on st Martin’s lane and 2 years later I still miss Fernando’s.

Really great food, great price. Very rare to find Gems like Fernando’s long may he continue.
Best dish in my opinion is chicken Kebab Salad you can eat that inside for a fiver. Really tasty grilled chicken with rice or cous cous, loads of fresh salad and sweet chilli sauce if you want it.
Brilliant independent caf little in a sea of Starbucks, Pret, McDonalds and other globalist rubbish.

Cheap-​as-​chips, no chips.
Lunch for under a fiver: Pastas and a range of hot dishes (lasagne, cottage pie, etc).
And then there’s the chicken kebab salad with rice. At £4.60, it’s too much food, even if you’re starving. A big lovely salad that’s not just made up crap leaves — think olives, couscous, clumps of feta, cucumber slices — topped with a massive chicken kebab.
Ask for no rice, unless you really want rice. Seriously.
So good. It’s across the road from one of our partners: I try to finagle lunchishtime meetings with them so I can go here. As does most of the rest of my office.

This café appears to be popular with local businesses with a steady stream of men in suits getting food. It mainly deals in jacket potatoes and salads, with a few hot pastas as well. It’s not particularly nicely decorated inside once you get past the deli deli counter and is aimed more at providing a take away service. It is perhaps a tiny bit more expensive than some nearby cafes but you get a good sized portion of some very tasty food. Definitely good value. The proprietor is also very friendly.
