Very nice restaurant, wonderful ambience, nice victims and excellent Indian food with wonderful flavors. Highly recommend, and service was exceptional too. Deducting one star as the dessert was sub-par. Coconut cake was dry.

Solid Mojitos this side of the pond. Sub par service — my chai never showed up and the staff kept kicking into my chair at the intersection of 2 columns of tables. The chicken and stuffed potato naan were just about Ok. A bit overpriced for average food and service.

By far the most overpriced meal I have had for a long time : 20 pounds for a lamb biryani 24 pounds for 3 prawns as a starter Plus a wine list so overpriced I don’t know where to begin Food was ok but just not with the money Service also poor given the prices

Charming restaurant and bar perfect for a quick lunch or after work drink. I visited as part of a work team lunch consisting of 13 guests. The service was very prompt and precise. We received our drinks and food promptly. The food was very tasty and the portions generous. All the food and drinks had a different touch which made it feel very unique. I will visit again!

Mint Leaf is a favourite of mine. I love the place! Although, I regret to say I’ve never had dinner there. I’ve only ever been for drinks. This place is chilled. The décor is sensual and tasteful. Mellow background music, just where it should be, in the backgorund. Makes me wanna breathe a sigh of contentment. Mmm, mmm, mmm! The service is excellent and very attentive. A great range of rum and wonderful cocktails. It’s never crowded and hectic. It makes a very good venue for a date. You can bet I’ll going back!

I had the pleasure of being brought here with work for a Client dinner. Ker-ching! When you come in, you’ll notice this really long bar, which looks quite sexy, and most important for any bar, loads of choice. Dinner was pretty good(I am a slight indian food snob), and i remember the flavours and portion size being just right. I think my only issue was how overly ice-y the biriyani was which made it a tad too heavy, but it did taste great. The cocktails(bellinis) we had were a good strregth and not cray sweet as some bars do them. My most favouritest point though was when our waiter firstly asked me if I’d like a whisky for after dinner(‘yes pls, how did you know?!’), and upon asking him what he had, he replied with ‘Hmm.do you like Japanese whisky?’. You bet I f’kin’ do! Suntory Yamazaki. Yum-my. Good times all round :)

A sexy City bar ideal for a special drink. I say ‘sexy’ because of the smooth leather sofas, low lamps and gorgeously long backlit bar of glowing bottles. I say ‘City’ because surprise, that’s where it is, plus it’s not the kind of place you rock up in jeans and trainers. And I say ‘special drink’ because it’s pricey — cocktails come in at £9 and then they add 12.5% to the bill. A friend and I were celebrating so chose it based on swishness and location constraints. We got through a couple of cocktails each: The Fleury(a safe choice involving Bombay Sapphire and lychee liqueur) got guzzled in the same time as my friend had taken two sips of hers(I was clearly thirsty!), whilst the Napoleon was my wildcard choice(rum, chartreuse, mango, ginger liqueur and a passionfruit half floating on top). Served in a giant bigger-than-my-face brandy glass and surprisingly nice. A-OK service too; had to wait a while to get attention at the bar but beyond that they offered to bring the drinks over and we had attentive table service for the rest of the evening(just as well given the aforementioned 12.5%). A friendly smile always goes a long way with me too. Didn’t quite get over my inherent skepticism of super pricey Indian restaurants enough to stay for dinner, but the canapes that wafted past on trays smelled pretty good! Probably makes a nice date place as the music is low enough to chat. I’d probably go back on another swish-drink-worthy occasion — but more likely on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday to nab a happy hour deal…

Newest cool thing — on Mondays for two people, you can get two courses each, a glass of wine/beer/soft drink each. ALL for an AMAZING £25! Love this place!

A great restaurant, despite a few hiccups. The samosas we ordered for pre-starters had to be asked for 2 or 3 times. Also, it’s the very first time in London that I get refused the right to takeaway our leftovers. Apparently for Hygiene issues… but I probably took more risks for my health, trying to eat everything that was left on the table afterwards… But on the positive side, our food was delicious. My beef was cooked to perfection, very tender, and with a flavourful red wine and curry juice that inspired my taste buds. Cocktails were great as well, and so was the wine, and the desserts !

Mint Leaf Lounge is a mixed bar/restaurant type place focusing on upscale Indian food. Now, I’m always hesitant to go out for Indian cuisine as it usually never can live up to the test of «Is it as good as Mum’s?». And while this doesn’t quite top some home-cooking, it’s pretty close. The menu is composed of about 6 – 8 each of starters, mains, sides, and breads so you have a decent selection to choose from. A minor gripe is that it’s fairly hard to tell which, if any, of the dishes are curries and which are relatively dry. All the dishes are Indian-inspired however some have been a bit more westernised in their appearance and flavour profile. The lamb chops for a starter were an absolute winner with the plate of three mini chops(according to the Ginger Pig these are most appropriately called lamb ends) seasoned perfectly and marinated in a spicy mix of masala, garlic, and ginger. The accompanying sauce was almost unnecessary and it was hard to share the succulent chops. My lamb shank for the main again supported the ability of the kitchen to produce some killer lamb dishes with the tender meat flaking off the bone at the touch. There wasn’t much of a masala taste I would normally associate with such cooking but a rich meaty sauce instead. It’s served with roti but I’d suggest exchanging it for the garlic naan which is small but epic. The desserts are definite winners. The moist ginger and orange cake was served with a lightly flavoured star anise cream and a tangy mango sorbet. I’ll be the first to complain about any dessert without chocolate but I could have easily polished this one off myself. The chocolate torte was very rich and decadent — just as you’d expect from such a dish. Neither was really Indian, but both were very enjoyable. To be fair, it’s not that expensive with starters around £8−10 and mains £15−25. However, the real value comes if you have a TasteCard as all food is 50% off, and since we did a 3 course meal came to £28pp. At that it’s definitely worth it! At full price, well that’s a slightly different story. The food was tasty, but was it worth £50+? No, no it wasn’t. I’d be happy paying around £30−35 for the meal but at the end of the day it’s just not that much better than say Tayyabs to justify 3x the price.

The restaurant is hidden away in a small courtyard off the main street and provides a good option for lunch and evenings. During lunch they serve some lunch menus that are quite good value given the location and the type of restaurant. In the evening the place gets busy with workers from the city going there for a cocktail and maybe having a meal afterwards. The cocktails are good, but nothing special. Food is also good, especially the kebabs are really tasty.

Another little cracker in The City. It can be surprising sometimes that there are cosy little places like this, almost like neighbourhood cafes tucked away between London’s busiest buildings. This is a perfect place to go for an early dinner after work.

My coworkers and I popped in for dinner after work one day. It’s hidden location made it a bit of a challenge to find but the restaurant is well worth the trek. The décor of the restaurant was beautiful and the atmosphere is very lively with a good crowd of 30 somethings at the bar after work. It took them a while to seat us, even though there were clearly tables available — perhaps trying to get some extra business at the bar. The food was of very good quality and the portions were sufficient. I had the lamb shank for dinner which was very nicely braised in a fragrant sauce. The reason I have 3 stars instead of 4 stars was the service. The wait staff was very slow, particularly when it came to refilling our water glasses. They also were not particularly helpful as most did not speak english as a first language and it was difficult to understand them.

One would be hard pressed to find a good Indian restaurant in the city. I have tried a few in the years I have been here and have usually been disappointed … Until I tried Mint Leaf last week. I was hopeful this time as I had been to the Mint Leaf at Haymarket earlier and had enjoyed the experience. This one turned out to be very different. The lounge is open and spacious, overlooked by a more«private» balcony. The ambience is nice … It’s not as «black» as the sister concern at Haymarket. The cocktail menu contains all the regular preparations one would be looking for and they do make any off the menu drink that an occasional customer might ask for(i liked my pisco sour). Al though their cocktails are good, the main strength of this place is the food. The varied and unusual menu sets this restaurant apart from most others. At the bar, besides the standard kebabs, we also had the«coorgi» pork belly. An european dish made with extremely chilli south indian spices … it was delicious. For the main course i had asked for the lamb biryani, which was made very well … among the better ones i have had in London. However i was far more impressed by the south indian lamb pepper fry that was ordered by a colleague of mine. The dish was unique. It was very dry and spicy, and was served with lachcha paratha. Others ordered from the entire spectrum of available alternatives … from guinea fowl to scallops, and no one complained. Mint Leaf lounge is expensive. If you are not careful with your order and drinks, it can surely put you back by a lot of money. But there is a happy hour for cocktails from 6 – 8 in the evening. The main courses are priced at ~£20, so one can have dinner here for ~£40 per person. This is a great place in the city for any official meal … will look to come back soon.

A reasonable place, decent enough décor, a cocktail bar type ambience(not sure if that works so well with a restaurant, but still) and a menu that tries — just not sure it achieves… The starter I had(duck) was cooked surprisingly well and flavoured nicely with discernible spices. Though I can’t say that the main course was that special, it was about average, albeit nicely presented. The place felt quite empty, though it was a Monday night. I would possibly return at a push, but it wont be at the top of my list — there are better Indian restaurants out there.

The Mint Leaf was a gem of a find for us. Hidden away in the sidestreets and rows between hotel Apex and the Bank station. We’ve been here a few times, since it’s so conveniently located during our stay. We’ve been here at odd and often late hours to dine. This last time around it was more dinner hours and the bar/lounge was crowded and the music thumping. I’m never a big fan of that scene, but great food always wins me over. Fate had us at exactly the same table with the server that remembered us from November. I love this menu as I’m always getting something different, yet solid. We shared a few openers. Tandoori Duck Breast Kebab-Chilli chutney Potato Cakes-Curried chickpeas with tamarind and yoghurt These were both very good and the sauces complimented both dishes well. For our mains, I had the South Indian Lamb Pepper Fry-Laccha paratha which is always one of the hotter dishes of the night. Kris had the Bombay Spiced Vegetables-Laccha paratha and enjoyed it. With our orders we munched on the Chef basket of Naan, one of which was stuffed with potato and another was garlic. Those were outstanding and perfect for mopping up the tasty sauces from all the dishes. Service has always been spot on and it’s a stylish and trendy setting. We love this place and are here often.

I was invited to the Mint Leaf Lounge by two friends both of whom work in the city and were wearing the standard city uniform of suits and ties. The meeting had been arranged at the last possible moment, so when I arrived from work wearing jeans and trainers I instantly felt out of place. The lounge bar is extremely opulent and with its gold leaf walls and hanging chandeliers it is equally suited to the city clientele that it attracts. My friend had booked the venue through TasteLondon so we were looking forward to getting 50% off. However, the cheapest item on the menu started at £17 so our half-price offer wasn’t really the bargain that we had anticipated! I ordered the Corgi Pork curry because I liked the sound of the name and whilst it didn’t contain any of the Palace’s poochs — the pork that it did contain was extremely succulent and literally fell off the fork. The only issue was that there wasn’t really very much of it at all. Although, I couldn’t really complain as my friends sea bass and thimble of rice wouldn’t have looked out of place on a Yo Sushi platter. The staff were attentive and strangely we had about five different waitresses during the course of the meal. Even with the 50% off, the price was extortionate for the amount of food we were given. I wouldn’t return at half-price and if we were paying the full price I’d have definitely complained.

This is a cool lounge and restaurant with an elegant, relaxing, contemporary atmosphere. We went for a business lunch and we found the food really good and beautifully presented. Service was very pleasant, attentive and efficient. This is a simply great place to hang out in the City of London. It’s not cheap but I think it still represents good value for money. I will definitely be coming back more often.

Nicely decorated, and there is alot of space to lounge around on the comfy sofas. Bar service was horrendous though went on a Thursday after work for leaving drinks, and even though the place was not packed it took a good 20 minutes to be served at the bar. Worse still were the people in front of me; they ordered wine, only to be told that the venue had run out of clean wine glasses! Prices are on the high side, but average for a swanky place like this. Although we didn’t have food, we were close to the open-plan kitchen and the food did smell and look very tasty. For lovers of seafood, their grilled crayfish, fishcakes, and giant prawns would more than satisfy any craving. Just one last thing music was very soft, so its one of those ideal places if you want to talk and chit chat, but definitely not one where you want good music pumping in the background.

Went to this place for a PR event. It was well tucked away in the banking district and i imagine it gets busy on a thursday but is dead at the weekend. Met in the champagne bar on a beautiful mezzanine with organza curtains and snakeskin sofas. The cocktails were dreamy, Strawberry and Vanilla Martinis, Orange Mojitos(in pints) and Porn Stars(served in a martini glass with a half passion fruit, and a shooter of champagne) which were sweet yet tart and dry. We had a taster menu which consisted of small canapes of coriander chicken, the biggest prawns covered in chili and ginger and garlic, and a beautiful salmon dill mousse. All the food was Indian in its inspiration and it was delicious. The rest of the venue was large and spacious, without being impersonal; an old bankers hall, the floor is apparently a metre thick! Natural stone and wood give the space an organic feel and apparently Feng Shui experts have been consulted to make sure the venue and therefore your night is a happy one.
