As a frequent diner in Crystal Palace, this is one restaurant we had not yet tried. Having seen the free checkin offer on Unilocal,we were encouraged to have dinner there one evening. We arrived maybe 6:30/7ish to an empty restaurant so was a little apprehensive at first. However, we had a friendly greeting as was able to sit where we liked. We quickly found out that we should have checked the website to get full details of the offer which as a little misleading and not really a true Unilocal deal. They did provide us with a glass each rather than the bottle so not all bad. We move on. Wine ordered and a nice little chat with the staff. We selected the starter. I enjoyed my courgettes and cheese but felt both starters could have been hotter. I had the fish dish which was tasty alternative to the pizza and pasta selections. Finished off with a hearty crème brûlée. Thick and rich, I nearly, just nearly did not finish it. The restaurant slowly started to fill throughout our time there. It was great to see a number of customers being greeted in a way which showed they had many loyal return customers. We are considering joining them.

I have been here 3 times and I have never had a bad experience. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, the staff are great. I have been to most of the restaurants in the Palace and this is in my second favourite. If the Fish Stew is on the menu, try it. Sadly I have not tried a Pizza yet, but I will as they look amazing!

The food here is excellent. I have eaten here a few times and the menu seems to change regularly. It is always imaginative though. To me, the selling point of this restaurant is the owner. He is truly enthusiastic about Sardinian food and ingredients and is always interesting to talk to when deciding what to order.

A seriously good Sardinian restaurant. The charcoal grilled marinated Calamari on mixed leaves salad & red peppers sauce to start was cooked to perfection. The main of Pasticcio(baked layers of grilled chicken fillets, vegetables, tomato & cheese sauce) was so filling that I unfortunately couldn’t ift in dessert, whilst my partner’s pasta dish with crab meat, garlic, chilli and coriander deserves to be shouted from the rooftops. Extremely light pasta with an equally light sauce to match. Honest home made sardinian food with reasonable prices to match.

I’ve been to sardinian a few times now, what a beautiful place… Then i found out that their was a little sardinian up crystal palace. Mediterranean is a family run restaurant where Efisio, Matilde and chef edward work together to crate a truly unique dining experinece.

Worth slugging out to Crystal Palace for. Several times. When you combine Sardinian recipes, wine, and hospitality with a Ghanaian head chef and über-fresh local ingredients… Mediterranea. Fabulous wine(try the whites, also ask Efisio to pair them up for you), a great menu with some lovely dishes. Completely un-stuffy. The only way you can go one better is by dropping £160 and going to Sardegna yourself.

A Mediterranean restaurant with a Sardinian bias but which takes in flavours from across the Med. The food speaks for itself. Fluently. To start, you might see grilled fennel wedges with Pecorino cheese or warm octopus with chickpeas, tomato and basil or Sardines, grilled and dressed with a hint of chilli and lemon. Perhaps Swordfish carpaccio with finely sliced raw vegetables, citronette dressing and chives might hit the spot? Main courses include malluredos(Sardinian pasta cooked with flavoursome sausage), grilled pork loin with borlotti beans, home-cured pancetta and wild boar salame or Salt Cod in saffron with a mussel and prawn broth. The fish is from Billingsgate, and it’s worth asking about the specials. The desserts are also home-made but I never seem to have quite enough room for them! Typical puds include Ricotta cheesecake doused in mint syrup or almond and hazelnut ice-cream with cinnamon-spiced dried fruits and rosewater. Service is always friendly. As this place is family run you really get a sense of entering someone’s home. Be prepared to be spoiled, you won’t be disappointed. Just relax into it and let Mediterraneo take you somewhere lovely.
