It’s that time again when another trendy coffee shop opens in Angel. Me being me, I had to check it out and well:. Well it was ok. Coffee is good, but damn the size of the cup! So damn small! I love the weird and wonderful croissant combinations. Like a peanut butter, maple and bacon one and a few others. Bold! They’ve got some cool look filter coffee machines, which I didn’t try, as I went for a flattie. So gotta be going back to try them haste pronto. I’m expecting to be impressed, so keep checking for my updated review lol.

The newest Oz style coffee joint in Angel moved from Shoreditch/Hackney and has opened it’s doors just south of Angel tube in a store that used to sell French style deli sandwiches. It’s opened right across the street from my office which makes spending my entire paycheck on good coffee even easier!(Darn you Angel gentrification) Anyway, with Workshop Coffee up the street on Camden Passage, Saint Espresso on Pentonville Road, MacIntyre Coffee completes this trifecta(and try-fecta it should be). Macintyre sell small batch roasted beans and use a counter machine made in Seattle(my coffee mecca hometown) that integrates with the counter rather than completely inundates it. Making the counter top free of clutter. It almost looks like a cask ale tap and coffee comes out of it. How wicked is that. Now if espresso stout came out of that tap I would be in heaven. The downer here is that with so much good coffee around, it’s actually nuances that make the difference and sadly, I would say that Saint is better than Macintyre purely for the thickness of the brew and the beans that they use. However, it’s still really good coffee, and I would spend every last penny if I could on hyperactive inducing beverages.
