Famed locally for its amazing beer garden… obviously the day I arrive it’s one of the rainiest, most miserable July days since records began. Staying indoors, from looking at the interior you’d be surprised to learn that the pub is three centuries old — it’s fairly modern and looks a bit ‘chainy’ if I’m completely honest. Friendly staff though, with a motley crew of whom I can only assume are regulars propped up against the bar(is this place Earlsfield’s version of Cheers?). After a couple of pints and spotting a break in the weather it was on to somewhere else. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to sit out back in the sunshine one day and see what all the fuss is about. Tip: they accept contactless payment here — convenient, yet also dangerous.

Really nice beer garden, perfect in summer. Part of the outdoor area is covered so you can still sit outside in the standard English weather! Have only eaten here once, burger was fairly decent, better than you would expect for pub food.

Apart from the garden the leather bottle fails at everything else. Soul less & unwelcoming. I am not a big fan. But in the Summer it has the best Beer Garden for miles, if you can get served.

Had the London Lager here, which is alright as all the other beer options were things I’ve had time and time again. Garden out front by main road and a massive one out back. A bit gastro.

This is my local and i go often… but theyre not good. Food is massively overated and absurdly overpriced. The staff are always nagging you to leave at 1059 and gemerally a disappointing corporate approach to a pub. Best things are its round the corner and has the best garden i know round here. Few places beat it on a sunny Saturday.

I went attracted by their recent beer festival, having seen an ad for it. Unfortunately, the beer festival seemed to be little more than their usual Wells & Young beers, plus 3 other choices, which weren’t especially imaginative(Tim Taylor Landlord, and Jennings Cumberland, for example). The other major downside was that come 1pm the room I was in became baby buggy central, which isn’t ideal if you’re trying to have a nice quiet drink. That said, the food was good, the beers were in reasonable condition, and if you’re in the area, it’s a perfectly OK pub. not one to make a detour to visit though.

Had a New Year’s eve dinner here and it had a Masquerade theme so most of the guests were partly concealed. It had a very lively athmosphere and was very well organised. The food was a mixed review. My main of monkfish was really good but the people who choose beef wellington were dissapointed as the beef was overcooked and the filling was not very tasty. The drinks were overpriced but it was New Years eve so thats to be expected. The fireworks in the rear car park got going at midnight and we all had a great evening.

Great, friendly pub. Worth visiting on a sunny day. Food has room for improvement but some of it really isn’t bad.

The most beautiful pub garden I’ve seen in a while. Great atmosphere.

Full review after visiting their re-vamped garden space. They are decent enough to serve a good ale or lager and the food is not bad.

I’m not a big fan of the Leather Bottle. The pub is a little soulless and I don’t feel there’s anything characterful about this place at all. I suppose it serves a purpose in so far as that it houses many locals on a Friday and Saturday night but I don’t ever feel there are many different types of clientele apart from just that — locals… With places like Bar 366 and The Jolly Gardners all on Garratt Lane, this place has a lot to live up to and it just doesn’t deliver.
