I’m in love with Lov, Kusmi Tea’s little sister. First of all Lov offers a range of organic teas, rooibos that are extremely delicious. I only drink organic teas(because when you don’t drink organic tea you are more likely to drink infused pesticide than tea…) so I don’t have a lot of options… Luckily for me Lov exists and I can find them in every Kusmi Tea shop. I don’t put the 5th star because their selection of Lov tea is not terrific.

I love tea. I am a bit of a tea snob, less so than my flatmate but still. I appreciate a good cuppa, properly made without milk or sugar to ruin the flavour. As I was walking down the road, past shops I pass every day I noticed, as if for the first time Kusmi Tea. Being as previously mentioned rather partial to a brew I popped in and was completely ignored by the staff. I wandered around the shop and it was only when I went into the back that they noticed me and said hello. They then proceeded to ignore me as I wondered around, I had to ask them for assistance twice before they helped me. The tea range was wide but there was no interest shown by the staff in their product. They didn’t help me decide on a flavour, they had no experience in describing tea flavours and they showed no inclination to help explain. I was the only customer and i am not surprised. When I compare this experience to T2 I am surprised Kusmi is still in business in such a wealthy area.

A very good place in the back of the shop for business meetings. Most of the places in London are too crowded. At Kusmi Tea I found enough space to hold a meeting without any interruptions. Staff is very considerate and professional, they will create the most welcoming atmosphere weather you are there by yourself with friends or colleagues. They also offer a free wifi and that is a huge benefit if I need to do my work. It is always a pleasure to stay there and enjoy a really good tea. I always try something new and it is always an amazing experience! They are really great!

It was a delightful relief to stumble upon Kusmi’s cheerful new storefront on Marylebone Street. Since being in the UK for the past month, I’ve found that many of the readily available teas here are much heavier and more astringent than in the US: they leave near indelible rings of slightly viscous sediment around the inside of my mugs and there is usually a subtle, peculiar shimmery film on the surface of the liquid somewhat resembling the iridescence of a gasoline puddle. These oddities combined with their generally overly bitter taste and the dark cast they leave on tooth enamel(perhaps this explains some of the mystery behind the less than toothsome grins the Brits are known for?) left me resorting to daily trips to the Café Nero next door for espresso(which brings up the coffee situation in this country which is far too complex of a problem for me to even begin to know how to tackle). Since my visit to Kusmi, though, I’ve created a secret tea paradise in my kitchen: the exquisite rainbow of tins stack every free surface nook where I can enjoy their softly smooth and fragrant blends far away from whatever that mystery substance is that the English call«tea».
