To be fair, I’m not super familiar with Brixton, but as a local Brixtonian told me, this is the best place in Brixton and I can see why. Great atmosphere, great service, great drinks at a great price. Unfortunately with all the gentrification happening in the area, the landlords have tripled the rent so now they have to close for 3 weeks! What a shame. Hopefully gems like these don’t disappear with all the change.

This place is great on many levels: 1) the food is delicious, cheap, and flexible(you can get anything with any type of meat or veg and add an egg to everything). The chef is from Louisiana and so it’s a different type of food than you find other places in Brixton. 2) It is a chill little café during the day and a cool bar at night 3) The WiFi is fast and strong 4) They have fun cocktails that are £4 all the time. 5) The murals in the loos are cool. Super-duper crowd pleaser and good meeting spot.

A fun place at the weekend with some great and unusual live music occasionally. The cocktails are cheap and taste great and the foods good(though options are limited). The downside is that it can get really rammed so it’s hard to dance, finding a seat is near on impossible in the evenings and if you need the loo I suggest you start working on your pelvic floor exercises because the queues can be epic! Most of the staff are friendly, though one of the guys(who might be the manager) is always grumpy and has the face to match.

My friend and I were wondering Brixton for a while. I knew of Kaff, I’d popped in a couple times but never eaten. We were looking for somewhere to eat. It was Sunday. Brixton Villiage was jammed with tourist. We’d started to think we’d made the wrong decision coming to Brixton. We were to a noodle bar, a little too squished, a pub(which looked like it had a wonderful menu and will be tracking down and bookmarking!) I’m the end we thought we’d get a coffee from Kaff and wait for the lunch rush to die down. We found some the comfy-ish sofa’s and sat down when we came across their menu. It seemed cheap. Too cheap to get a decent portion of meal. Well… We couldn’t be more wrong. We both got quesadillas with different fillings. Mine was packed with various meats and cheese. Lovely. And we got a soft of sweet potato fries(my favourite) which can seasons beautifully with some bbq sauce and fresh diced tomatoes. Definitely popping to Kaff in the very near future.

Ok place if you can get a seat. Very hipster and cheap mostly scarcely alcoholic drinks.

Squirrelled away from the markets, the Brixton-newbies and passing trade tend not to find their way here, and it’s probably all the better for it. That being said, it’s full of young, typically white, locals who are keen for a place to drink and chat and eat and be merry. Their cocktail list is short but sweet, and some of them are £3 all day long. What’s not to love?

Great atmosphere + good Guinness = Happy Josephine. Large portion, yes!
