I was in there at an off time. Shift change. But the assistance and attention I was given was chilly to I was bothering them.

I’d been looking for something with options that were fresh and lighter. The concierge suggested this restaurant. It was a good choice. It’s a modern Italian restaurant. They don’t overcook the pasta. The flavors were clean. Service was good, and the room is nice.

I’ve been here a few times and my experience has varied. While the ambiance and the service are great, the food can be hit or miss(to the point I was actually tempted to award 3 stars). Overall, the food is good(I particularly liked the artichoke and the polenta-I’m not sure if it is still on the menu). Regardless anyone going is certainly in for a good meal.

A couple of colleagues took me here for dinner while I was visiting the UK. I normally do not opt for Italian when given a choice but Four to Eight was spoken very highly of. The menu did not disappoint! They had some adventurous options which I was not brave enough to try like Crispy Pig’s Head and BBQ Octopus but I found them very intriguing(for next time!), but I had the Risotta Al Fungh dish and didn’t look up from my plate until I was done. The Grilled Aritoke Hearts were delicious and were well-marinated in a citrus sauce. The other two dishes that were ordered were the Carbonara Taglioni and the Crab Liguine and neither plate had anything left on it when they were taken away. I think the flavors were very unique and the staff was incredibly friendly even with our lengthy debate over what wine to order. I think if you are looking for a classy sit-down dinner this place will appeal to any diet and taste.

Presentation was nice. Service was excellent. I got fish of the day and it was delicious. The ribeye was also good.

A perfectly positioned pre-theatre nosh! My mum and I were searching for a light bite before seeing«Beautiful — the Carole King Story» at the nearby Aldwych Theatre, and luckily Four to Eight arrived to me via my Unilocal app. We popped in, secured one of the few remaining 2 tops at 620pm, and were quickly furnished with wine(the sauvignon blanc was a vision!) and menus. We quickly gravitated to the pre-theatre set menu(2 or 3 courses) and it was an excellent choice. Also, the only choice as we were going to be in a bit of a rush! Not to fear, the execution went beautifully and we arrived in plenty of time for our show(730pm). Much to the credit of the staff at Four to Eight. Not only fast, also high quality. I enjoyed the crispy pig head starter(looked/tasted much more eloquent than it sounded) and the salmon filet. My mum had the beetroot panna cotta starter and the same salmon filet. Cheers all around, the food is very nice. If you are looking for a pre-show nosh that isn’t touristy or boring or full of old people(sorry, old people, you are also welcome of course!) — Four to Eight fits the bill. I suggest making a 6pm reservation if you are seeing a night show and ordering from the set menu(5pm-7pm), just let your server know you’re dashing off. This will allow ample time for a second glass of wine(I wanted one!) or coffee/dessert. Cool vibe, stylish and comfortable… I would certainly return next time I’m in Covent Garden. 2 courses — £18.50 3 courses — £23 Reservations accepted through the Unilocal app or site page — YAY!

Four to Eight is a great new Italian just off Covent Garden, which we visited on a Saturday evening with friends from out of town. Erring away from being just another eatery that tourists pop into for a quick pre-theatre meal, 4 – 8’s prices are definitely aimed at the higher end of the market, with a 2 – 3 course dinner with wine coming in at around £50−60 per person. Overall the food did justify this pricing — the cauliflower gnocchi I had as a main was simply delicious. Leo the manager was extremely friendly to our group, and clearly works very hard to keep his customers happy. I look forward to coming back here in a few months’ time to see how it has evolved, and will be interested to see whether 4 – 8 establishes itself as one of the cult favourites, or falls into the tourist trap.

I was keen to check out this newest Italian restaurant on the foodie scene, which is owned by Sicilian brothers. It is a two level establishment with a modern design and crisp décor, with the main restaurant at street level and the kitchen and chef’s table in the basement. Whilst we chatted to our fellow dinner companions, with a view of the kitchen, we enjoyed canapes of squid ink crackers with squid emulsion. This was paired with a crisp, citrusy Nino Franco, a Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut Rustico from Veneto, Italy, that complemented the intense flavours concentrated in the squid emulsion. As we sat down and made our menu choice, we were served farinata, salumi and arancini. Farinata is a chickpea frittata, and arancini are deep-fried risotto balls. For starters, I enjoyed Cured Red Mullet, with tonnato, treviso and crispy artichoke. For mains, I had a Beef Shin Ragu, a winter warming dish served on pappardelle and decorated with pecorino and nasturtium leaf. For desserts, we tucked into a velvety Opera Cake served with ricotta ice cream. We heard from our neighbours that the Amalfi lemon tart was to die for — dessert is now on our checklist! It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with the culinary theatre of the open-plan kitchen opposite us whilst we caught up with some friends whom we had not seen for sometime. The food reminded me of my holiday in Sicily. Great food and service.

This is a new Italian restaurant located in Covent Garden. It is a two level establishment with a modern design and crisp décor, with the main restaurant at street level and the kitchen and chef’s table in the basement. Started with a citrusy Venison Tartare served with crisp, Italian flat breads, and that had sweet beetroot and shallots elements balanced by the bitter lettuce and fermented pear — a new idea for us as we have been having difficulties as to what else to do with our pears from our garden besides chutneys, jams and frozen compotes and purees for winter time crumbles and sponge puddings! For mains, I enjoyed a Sea Bream with crispy skin and the beautiful, flaky fish was complemented by wonderful textures and flavours from the roast lettuce, semolina gnocchi and the salsa verde. Save space for the gorgeous, syrupy Rum Baba. It is enough for two people to share; I should have taken heed of our waiter’s warning that it was a big dessert, but my eyes got the better of me when I saw one going to customers in the restaurant upstairs! It was like a big, warm, comforting hug on a plate. Amazing food and thoughtfully matched wine pairings, with the Australian Riesling being a wonderful new taste sensation and the honey notes of the JJ Prum being a perfect end to the meal. Overall, a wonderful new venue with fabulous food and attentive service, and a must for your list of restaurants to visit!

Excellent new Italian restaurant in Covent Garden. Very stylish inside with a pretty cool giant wine box in the middle of the room. We sat downstairs where it was dimly lit and imitate. The menu isn’t extensive but it’s full of interesting dishes and ingredients. We opted for a few small plates along with mains. The pigeon was delightful! Delicious and tender and packed with flavour added from the beets, grapes and chicory that accompanied. We tried the Cured Red Mullet, which was my favourite. It arrived with radicchio which gave some crunch. The dish was light, the flavours were wonderful and very fresh. Definitely will be coming back here just for this dish. The boar was nice. It arrived as thin prosciutto style slices. A very tapas styled small plate. For mains I had the Lobster Fregola. Delicious. The fregola was so flavourful and the lobster was a perfect complement with it. Service was very good, super friendly and attentive. We had Rose as our waitress. She was excellent! I’ll definitely be back to this new spot to try out their other dishes and have that cured Red Mullet again :)
