The shop is just a counter and a place to stand, all the tables are outside. They only take cash, so we had to go find an ATM, get some pound notes, and go back. I was tired enough that this minor inconvenience rather annoyed me, and then when we were eating our ice cream — which was fine, but not particularly delicious — there were people smoking in the open air eating area. Let me tell you, tobacco and mint chip are not flavors that should be mixed. Plus the serving girls seemed stand-off-ish. So I wasn’t too happy with Fenton’s.

I liked the sorbet and it’s not badly priced, but get ready for your scoop to fall off your cone into your lap. Happened to THREE of the six people we got ice cream with. Not okay

This place has excellent soft creamy gelato/ice cream. Ferraro Roche flavor was the bomb! But almost all the other flavors are nice and worth trying as well.

This is a small shop on Notting Hill gate, with a selection of ice creams and sorbets. They usually(from what I’ve seen) only have 2 – 3 sorbets so that’s quite limited, but there is a standard selection of flavours. All are pretty tasty. Nothing to write home about, but does the trick. It’s heaving with tourists in the summer, most of whom don’t have great manners, so be prepared to be shoved a lot. I’d give it 4 stars, except the servings are pretty stingy. You don’t get a lot for your £3.50!

We Londoners seem to be warming to cold treats as evidenced by the proliferation in ice cream, gelato, fro yo and milkshake parlours over the last few years in our capital city I’ve been lucky to partake of Fentons ice cream in the USA on my holidays and they make a pretty mean ice cream. So, I was intrigued to see that they’ve opened a branch in Queensway, right across from Hyde Park. My only reservation is that they’ve taken over premises that housed a café selling Marine Ices, a good local brand of ice cream They’re aiming for an old fashioned vibe to their décor and styling and their flavour selection reflects this but hey, if something isn’t broken, why fix it? I left with a pistachio ice cream, which was creamy and full of flavour At £2.50 for a single scoop, it’s also competitively priced. A piece of Americana worth importing
