We were very pleased with our caffeinated beverages this morning. I had the cappuccino with cocoa on it and my mom had a latte. The presentation was great and they seemed to be authentic Italian style drinks and pastries. There were 5 choices of pastries and both of us tried one of them. They were wonderful in texture and taste. The seating area was a little small but fine for 2 or 3 people at a table.

This is one of my few reviews on Unilocal because I feel so strongly about the greatness of this little coffee shop. I’ve lived for 10 years in Portland Oregon where coffee is a bit of a big deal and love a proper coffee. I now live in London and have been amazed how hard it is to find a really good espresso or cappuccino. Dolce & Amaro is one of the rare down to earth places that gets this right. Don’t expect Nero or Costa or Starbucks big cups of watery and milky coffee. Here it is quality over quantity. I’ve chatted with the owners Mattia and Gabriele about how this came together. They are both Italian and a nice swath of local Italians frequent this spot. Their beans come from Florence and they wanted to create a real Italian coffee café in London. This is the sort of place that deserves to thrive and yet can easily get lost in the shuffle. And their prices are tool low, £1.60 for in house cappuccino. This place, which is now my local, is highly recommended.

Cute little corner coffee shop. Chill atmosphere, it’s a nice place to people watch. Great coffee, exquisite sweets.

I’ve been there, will be back. Soon. 4 stars because they need some help as they just started that lovely business and they will improve it(outside seatings to come). Coffee smells so good, range of Italian products, hot food(to take away if you feel like it), and a bunch of tempting cookies!!! Worth a visit. The sooner the better. Glad it’s them and not one of those main ones again.
