Sadly closed down and planned to be converted into flats and retail space. A genuinely sad day for the local Irish and sporting communities.

Crawled here one evening with several friends, exhausted from New Year’s partying and in search of some solid food and drink(needed a bit of re-toxing to deal with the endless hangover). This solid, traditional pub is a fab change of pace from a number of the poncey gastropubs nearby. I like a good gastropub but sometimes you simply want the basics. Beer selection isn’t huge, but they cover the basics on lagers and ales. The menu isn’t brilliant for vegetarians(even ones like me who eat fish). That said the scampi and chips were fine. To be honest I wasn’t expecting to find a quinoa salad here! There are lots of meaty offerings like steak and ale pie and Irish stew — great on a cold winter’s night, and from what my friends said, all hearty and delicious. Overall good atmosphere, friendly staff and very reasonable prices for food and drink.

This review is for a surprise treat of a traditional Sunday roast. The sort you used to get in most good pubs across London but which has become quite rare. What made it so special was the wonderful Irish hospitality which came with the food. I was given a complimentary Yorkshire pudding when I queried the lack of one on my plate(it doesn’t come with lamb — should have read the menu, doh), the mint sauce was home made. And I was strangely comforted by the fact that the veggies were overcooked — true retro feelgood food. The portions were old-fashioned, too, and extremely good value at £13.95. I would not normally choose a pub dominated by TV screens, but happily make an exception for the Corrib Rest. Apparently, there is Irish dancing upstairs, too. What’s not to like?!

Could do with a couple of cask ales on tap, but otherwise a great pub and everything that an Irish pub should be. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and decent food. Loads of screens up too, so particularly good for watching sport, especially if there are a few things on at the same time.

A good Irish pub for sports. Loads of screens showing multiple games at any one time, perfect for last day of the season. Pool tables and filling Irish grub.

Huge place — almost like a banquet hall — which I felt detracted a bit for intimacy. It’s likely better for events, concerts and watching sports rather than a charming gathering of friends.

Looks like a rather divey pub from the outside, but took a chance and organised a 120 person Xmas party there in the banquet room. Food was great and reasonably priced. Not sure what the regular pub is like, but for large events, thoroughly recommended for good service, food and space.

A good Irish pub that does decent food. The lamb shanks and the roast dinners are really good. Prices are very reasonable and it is a good addition to eating in Queens Park/North West London. The pub has two bars and sometimes opens the upstairs to eat as it can get very busy on sundays.

The Corrib Rest is a timeless Irish pub. Ideal for an afterwork drink. I love the big generous booths(especially the ones in the corner with all the books). This is ideal for sports watchers, but if that’s not your thing it might be difficult to get away from the dozen or so wide screens they have strewn all over the place. Great mood here, very unpretentious.

An old Irish Style pub/sports bar in Queens Park. The Corrib is quite large and spacious and is generally very easy to get a table at. The drinks on offer are standard fair and the pub grub isn’t half bad and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you get one of the big tables at the back they are surrounded by all kinds of old trinkets and books, can make the pub experience a little more cultured! The clientele is about 50% young folk and 50% old men who have a tendency to get smashed and behave badly but are largely harmless. Not the kind of place you make a trip out to see but if you are in the area and fancy a drink and some grub I’d definitely recommend it.

Massive pub situated on the Salusbury Road between Queen’s Park and Brondesbury Park stations. Decent food menu and also a good place to watch sports with plenty of screens around the pub and a pool table. I think they also do Salsa Classes on a Thursday evening!
